Great cables Time Owned: more than 12 months.
All of our club's radios to computer cables are from BlueMax49ers with the reliable best-rated FDTI chips. Never had any problems.

The 1-star rating was ridiculous because the cables do not come with any software and it does not say that software is included!

Great product and great support Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
My first BlueMax49ers cable was used for programming CCRs with CHIRP. Worked like a champ. Now, I have programmed several transceivers with it, and I am completely satisfied.

Next, I got a great deal on a Vertex VX-4000V, which I decided to convert to a 2m base station radio. The programming cable attaches to the radio via the microphone connection, which is quite unique. Original equipment cables are quite rare for this radio, so I decided to try BlueMax49ers again. Turns out he sells a cable that will work, so, I shelled out another $17 on ebay. After the sale, the seller, KJ6ZWL, sent me a link where I could find the Vertex programming software, and I was able to program the radio for my local band plan and repeaters.

All in all, I am very satisfied with my BlueMax49ers cables. They use the correct chip and work as advertised. BlueMax49ers ships fast and supports his products well.

Useless Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I was under the impression it came with software for the radio it was made for. Wrong! Have to use CHIRP, which has always been 100% useless to me across three different computers. I know, everybody uses and loves CHIRP and it is the best thing since rolled tp. Bully for you! Sorry it has never worked for me. Disc loaded software works, which is what I had hoped this came with.

No more hassles Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've been very happy with my Yaesu FT-60R, but not happy with the programming cables I had for it. I'd purchased BlueMax49ers cables for several other radios, so I got one for the FT-60. It uses an FTDI chipset, unlike the older cable I had which used a Prolific chipset (probably fake). The BlueMax49ers cable worked perfectly to download from and upload to the radio.
Brand names help us find reliable suppliers, I'll buy cables from them again whenever I need one for the radios I own.
