Bad and not bad Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Plus side is that its wide frequency span, and all mode. But as a scanner, just forget, Stops scanning and make noise, And its not SQ that is low. even without antenna and inside EMC chamber, its still same. Contact AOR is like talking to a wall. And my LCD having a line not working, And try to buy a new LCD is impossible. I would say....dont buy anything from AOR. Poor quality, and really bad support.

decodes lots of digital but crappy intermod rejection Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I plunked down a lot less than the list price of my hard-earned $$$. Given that - it will easily decode more digital modes than anything else that I have seen on the market. But the intermod rejection stinks. I am less than a mile (and line of site) from a legal limit power FM station AND some nasty pager transmitters. It doesn't make squealing noises like really low-end scanners do on the outdoor antenna, but it looses receive sensitivity when one of the pager transmitters is on. So I operate it with the whip antenna on the back which fixes all the weirdness. I miss out on picking up a lot of sneaky schools and other agencies that are sucking up my tax money - they have found that DMR and other dig HT's simplex probably keep the high school kids from snooping, but I want to keep an eye on where my tax money is going. Of course, if an agency has set up an encryption key you won't ever decode it, but most of the 5-0 is either not interested in hiding or doesn't understand this.

I love them!! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
What an excellent receiver! It's sensitive, quite selective and has a wide range of features! It decodes many of today's digital voice modes automatically and even the noise-reducing DSP works very well! I was so happy with my first DV1, I bought another one!! It's a bit pricey but in my opinion, it's worth every penny!!

Beware, Don't Buy Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I sent a AOR DV1 in to aor for repair, because the firmware caused a problem. The receiver would not receiver or no audio when I sent it to them.
They said they fixed it and it was caused by static discharge caused by firmware(BS). It came back to me , it only lights up yellow for a second or two and is more or less dead. AOR has a repair technician come in once a month in Torrance, CA. to repair these, can you believe that for a $1300.00. BEWARE OF AOR REPAIR SERVICE.
