Excellent Radio Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just purchased my new Alinco DR-235T Radio. Built very well. Nice compact size, and easy to install in my Jeep. Radio has given me excellent audio reports, and the Receiver is great. All in all a good Radio.

Good 220 Mhz radio Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Received the 235t the other day and installed it in the truck with a 1/4wave mag mount. Works real well, and has good receive.I like the long mike cord. and I love the direct freq. imput from the mike. The only complaint I have is the loud click in the speaker when I unkey the transmitter. It is not the relay but a loud pop click from the speaker. Does anyone else have that noise or is mine going to be a problem

Could be better Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Good rig but could be better. I worked around the lack of a reverse feature by programming the reverse frequency right next to the repeaters I use and I got the tip right here - thanks. The mic cord is a bother on my desk and although I understand the law of "supply and demand," there's no reason I can see that this rig should be that much more expensive than the DR-135.

Audio is the main gripe I have. I get good reports on my transmission but the little speaker inside the radio "just ain't got it!" Very "tinny" sound so as to make you turn the volume down more than you'd prefer. If they're all like mine - plan to use an external speaker.

Very Suprising Time Owned: N.A.
Great little rig. Love the direct freq entry from the remote mic and the other remote features. Performs great. Looks good. Own two different Alinco products (also DR-605TQ) and believe that they are a real bang for the buck. And that's from a real Kenwood fan; however, couldn't see paying almost $500 for the Kenwood when one could buy the Alinco for half that??? Absolutley no regrets!

Great Rig Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I´m a user about 2 years and whatever I say will not explain the real feeling when I´m using it. Very good rig. Alinco is a fantastic suprise.

Nothing but good. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had the radio for more than a year, it works great. I had the ADI mobile before it, and the Alinco is much better all around. If you have 220 in your area, then I definitely recommend the 235.

As nice as other good rigs Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Very good audio and all around features. I am using this rig for a long time (1 year) and it's working perfectly since then. I usually have only Icom rigs and I don't feel any quality difference between Alinco and Icom (knobs, chassis, etc.). Electronically it also looks very nice.

Great Radio Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had this radio for over a year and I have had no problems at all. Super radio for the price, the mic cord is a bit long for most but in my truck it works great. Audio is good, display is easy to read.

Great Tx & Rx Audio Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I must admit that I am a "dyed in the wool" ICOM user. However, ICOM does not make 222 rig and I wanted one for the truck. So, off I went to the local HRO. The choices are unfortunately slim in this category. You only have ADI (did not care for the construction, the heat sink looks like a cheap after thought), Kenwood (did not want to give up a car payment to get their rig) and Alinco. So, I bought the Alinco. I've got to tell you that the first impressions have been great. It's Tx (I'm ok with the mic cable length and like the fact that it does NOT use an RJ-45 connector) and Rx (a really nice top mounted speaker) audio are great, it's mounting hardware is more than sufficient (and they give you enough of it), the display is pleasant to look at and works from an angle, the menu's are easy enough to get through, it is set up for built in TNC, theft deterrance and digital options (ICOM, Yaesu and Kenwood, you should take a lesson from this) and lastly I feel that the case is built as well and a rugged as any ICOM and better than, Yaesu or Kenwood. Overall, a very nice package. My parting comments to the "big three" are "watch out".

220... it's a great band ! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought mine because my good friend Bill, K2ANE recommended it. I use it primarily as a base rig and secondarily as a mobile rig. Yes, it does fit in the Icom quick release mobile bracket perfectly when I decide not to use my Icom IC-2100 2 meter CB.

The microphone cord doesn't bother me at all. It's rugged and has a perfect droop in the shack and in the Cadillac.

All things considered too… my Alinco works great. It's intuitive to operate, sounds excellent on receive and gets wonderful transmit audio reports. In other words it's LOUD LOUD LOUD ! ! !

The alphanumeric tags are a wonderful thing… sure beats those meaningless numbers.

Now… this thing about a reverse repeater feature… come on… get real. Just program every other repeater channel memory to the repeater input frequency. The rig certainly has enough memories anyway… even for the NYC area. Turn the memory knob or press the mic up-down button once and …BINGO… you're on the repeater input frequency.

220… it's a great band !
