Comfortable to wear and very good sound! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I was looking for a headset to replace my desktop mike for a local contest. I have tried a lower priced but also 4.x rating headset before, which was not worth the money!
Due to a RadCom test I came across the W1. This headset is very comfortable to wear and really sounds good. Build quality is good, too. I am using the W1 with an Elecraft K3s and a Ten-Tec Eagle with the corresponding adapter. Can only recommend!

The best available right now. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Used with TS-590SG and Yaesu FTDX-101D. In my opinion, the finest headset available today, and I've had almost all of them, including a pile of Heil junk and even the expensive "Radiosport". - You won't regret this purchase. Well made and sounds great.

Additional M-I Adapter Update Time Owned: more than 12 months.
In follow-up to my previous report about the M-I adapter cable, in further testing the otherwise great W1 headset also seems very prone to pick up 120 hZ AC hum from nearby home wiring inside the wall. I.E., if your operating position puts the back of your head near an AC power run inside the wall, you may experience AC hum being induced into the headset, particularly around the area of the headband. However, this too can be resolved by using the Heil AD1-I (blue band) adapter cable between your IC-7610/7300 and the W1 headset. The problem is the PTT Ground and Mic Grounds being tied together (common) in the Inrad adapter. Separate the grounds (like the Heil cable does) and the issue is resolved.

Over the past few years I've been through several headsets, including those from an unnamed Mfr. that try to emulate the big aviation headsets. My needs are simple: #1 top requirement is comfort, It must not feel like I'm clamping my head in a vise;; #2 requirement is stereo earpieces with good fidelity; #3 requirement is good sounding, full-range TX audio, meaning that I expect some reasonable bass response in addition to the articulation frequencies; #4 it must have a good feel, in other words feel like a decent piece of gear that's going to last and finally; #5 Be reasonably priced.

I'm elated to say that the Inrad W-1 headset, for my needs and expectations, is a home run!

M-I adapter update Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I'm still giving the W1 Headset a "5". However, W1BG below, is correct. The M-I (Icom adapter cable) DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY.
It is a "zero".
Bill was correct. If you have Icom radios you want to use the headset with, just buy the similar priced Heil adapter cable (also color coded Blue) from HRO, Heil, DXE, etc.
The 2 adapters are wired differently. The Inrad adapter produces the worse audio I have ever heard but the Heil is outstanding!

This has come up several times on the 7610.io Group as well.

You've been 'advised'.
Great headset!
Have fun!

Great value! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The Inrad W1 is a high quality boom mic headset which is considerably less expensive than its major competitors. Sounds great, well made, very comfortable for long term use and backed by Vibroplex. You can't lose with this one. Highly recommended.

Recommend quality HS Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just received my new Inrad W1 headset to replace the Koss SB40. Koss was not bad but the Inrad W1 has an excellent and comfortable fit. Doesn't feel heavy in spite the solid design. The mic arm is extremely flexible. Connection lead is very long with a straight and spiral section enabling you almost to reach the coffee machine in kitchen from the shack. Covers ears and provides very good background noise isolation. Impossible to hear when the XYL is asking me to start vacuuming the house.

Have only had one QSO and got a good report on the voice quality with Kenwood TS-940SAT. will see how things develop as I will be operating in the ARRL DX SSB with the new HS.

Very Comfortable Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Been using for about 4 months. Very comfortable, blocks out background noise. I have received excellent audio reports. I am using the headphones with a UR6QW 8 band equalizer and FTDX 3000. Highly recommend.

Update - Comfort Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I used the headset for my first 24 hour contest, Nov SS, over the weekend.

After a long periods of use, the headset was comfortable and did not cause any discomfort.
