Poor Quality Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Bought this antenna in the summer of 2017 for $100 more than its current MSRP, price reduction? I really do not like giving negative reviews but feel in the case it has been earned. Elements have failed and fallen to the ground on two separate occasions the most recent being yesterday. One failure was an element itself that literally shattered again when I picked it up. Yesterdays was a short diameter reducing section from the mast clamp to the element allowing that element to fall to the ground. Now these are not elements of great length of course its six meters only about 4 feet long. But they fail. Poor, very poor quality tube perhaps? In all my years of ham radio I have never had antennas which simply shed their elements via breaking off. From their website "Highest Quality Materials" and "Cushcraft antennas are stronger, lighter, have less wind surface area, better wind survival, need no adjustments, look professional and last years longer" Really? Now with this antenna mounted at 90' do you continue to replace parts as they fail, hoping you have caught all the defective parts? Today I ordered all 12 of these element to boom clamp adapters (my expense). I hope the replacements are better quality then those installed. The only reason this antenna got a 1 instead of a 0 was because it seems to work ok when it stays together.
