Good rig Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is my first transceiver. I installed it in my car and it works great. I like the color display, although hard to see in direct sunlight. For newbie it did not take me too long to work out how to program.

NICE display Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just bought this radio; very impressed, so far. I fixed the mic cord problem. Pretty stupid, furnishing an 11-ft. control head cable, and a 3-ft. mic cable, as most others have noted. I added a Category 5 Ethernet jumper and a coupler -- works fine. I looked for a way to extend the display/control head cable, but it's cross-wired in some strange way. When I got it installed, the standard cable turned out to be plenty long enough.

The display is amazing, and the "soft" buttons take a lot of the guesswork out of programming. So far, I'm impressed.

ICOM IC-2800H, Good Radio Time Owned: unknown months.
Same complaint as other hams, the supplied mike cord is to short. One other short comming is lack of capability to do UHF/UHF or VHF/VHF display. Cross band full duplex works well but is not documented in manual. Have to call ICOM to get key sequence. Band scope is nice. Radio works well and is worth the price. John Wolters, WB5PBL

ICOM 2800 Mic EXTENTION SUGGESTION Time Owned: unknown months.
I had the same problem as the guy below with the ICOM 2100H and the ICOM 2800 mic cord being to short. The mic cord is a bit to short and I found that I had a intermitant due to pulling on it. A easy fix is to replace the ICOM mic coiled cord with similar cord I found at the HOME DEPOT in the telephone JACK DEPT. I paid
$6 for a 7 foot heavy duty cord and it works much better. If someone in the rear seat of my car wants to talk i can hand the mic to them. They also sell a 4 foot cord also.

Great Mobile Radio. Time Owned: unknown months.
Great Radio! Only one problem; the mic cord is too short. Can not put the transciever in a remote location with short mic cord. Other than this one problem for a guy over 60 great display.
