Tunes Any Frequency Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The Ten-Tec 253 automatic antenna tuner will tune any frequency. It is slow, but it has worked with every type of antenna I have tried. It handles 2 KW. It has never needed to be repaired. I primarily work MARS and tune odd frequencies. I would be lost without it.

Good legal limit + auto tuner Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is my second #253 Automatic Tuner from Ten-Tec. Altho a bit noisy, it handles the legal limit Ten-Tec #425 TITAN amplifier with ease. Using the "clone 236" (discontinued #236) cable by Riley's Accessories, the #253 changes bands automatically with the Omni VI Plus transceiver.(Or Omni V/VI models. The cable matches the quality of the original Ten-Tec 236 cable.See www.rileyaccessories.tripod.com for his line of cables.) The rare 253 sold new for $1095. and are sold on the swap nets around $675.-$800. depending on condition.

Pair it with the Hercules II and have a 500w "inst Time Owned: unknown months.
The Model 253 is a "set and forget" type of tuner.

Once you manually use the "tune" switch to adjust
it for each band on each antenna it will remember
the settings.

You can then move about the various bands and
switch between various antennas without having to
manually re-tune (depending upon the bandwidth of
your antenna).

You can use four antennas with coax feed lines,
or three antennas with coax feed and one with
either coax, single wire or balanced line feed.

It's rated for 2kw maximum, and when used with
the Ten Tec Hercules II and a radio that can
send band change information you have a nice
500w "instant tune" station.
