Surprising quality and features. This is a well built VHF/UHF mobile radio with a solid look and feel. Easily programmed using Chirp or with the supplied software. The customer ratings for this rig marked bellow 4 are all about the factory software. I initially programmed with Chirp without issue but, once the mfg supplied a patch for my Win. 8.1 system, it worked fine. It can be manually programmed through the extensive menu either on the radio or using the microphone buttons. The supplied manual is usable but, be prepared for "chinglish". It doesn't have some of the features of the more expensive and well known rigs but, it costs about half as much. I plan to use it for emergency mobile ops figuring the extra output will come in handy if power, and many repeaters are not available. The display is easy to read indoors but, haven't tried it outdoors yet. The display has numerous options for the background color, text color, etc. I'm OK with the default white on blue scheme for now. I may want to change it for mobile ops.
