Sweet 220 handheld Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Once you learn to program it, it is a really nice 220 rig. Too bad that most of the other radio mmanufacturers have phased out 220. Oh well, this little guy is every bit as good as the venerable IC-3AT and much more versatile. If you find one, keep it. You won't go wrong.

Pretty good radio Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
It's a solid radio, definitely gets a solid signal out. I got mine at a swap meet for $100 and had to buy a new battery pack for about $50. I don't like the stock duckie (it just seems too short), but it seems to work OK. I can get into the Mt. Hamilton CONDOR repeater from my front porch in central San Jose with it pretty reliably.

The controls are a little idiosyncratic, the manual is weak, and the battery pack is difficult to fit onto the back. But it all works...

A DECENT RIG! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.

I FEEL THE ADI-PR-222,RIG IS AN DECENT RADIO,
AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT COMPARED TO ITS,
COMPEITITORS.

THE RADIO WORKS WELL AND HAS GOOD AUDIO,AND
WORKS GOOD ON SIMPLEX WITH THE RUBBER DUCK,
ANTENNA,BUT THERE ARE SOME THINGS WELL I WILL
SAY ARE QUIRKY ABOUT THE RIG,YES AS MENTIONED
BEFORE THE MANUAL IS NOT THAT EASY TO UNDERSTAND
AND THERE ARE SOME DISCREPANCIES ALSO,LIKE IT,
SAYS YOU CAN HOOK UP AN EXTERNAL POWER SOURCE
TO THE MIC PLUG!!WELL THAT DOES NOT MAKE ANY
SENSE!! PLUS ON MINE I PURCHASED TWO OF THEM
THE POWER SUPPLY PLUG DOES NOT FIT!! APPARENTLY
I MUST PURCHASE SOME OTHER TYPE OF PRYME,S
POWER CONNECTOR SO I CANNOT MAKE MY OWN
CIGARETTE LIGHTER CONNECTOR MYSELF.

THE RADIO HAS NO VFO ROTARY DIAL,LIKE ITS
COMPEITITORS,IT USES PUSH BUTTONS AND DIRECT
KEY ENTRY.THE SQUELCH IS ALSO NON ROTARY DIAL
AND YOU HAVE TOO PUSH AN MONITOR BUTTON,FOR
WEAK SIGNALS AND THE SQUELCH THRESHHOLD IS
ADJUSTED IN AN COMPUTER MENU CONFIGURATION,
WHICH IS AN PAIN IN THE NECK!!ALSO!!

BUT OTHERWISE I DO LIKE THE RIG OVERALL IT SEEMS
TO BE FAIRLY WELL BUILT BUT NOT EXACTLY THE
GREATEST LOOKING HT I HAVE SEEN BUT IT IS
SMALL ENOUGH TO BE COMFORTABLE IN YOUR HANDS:

Nice radio for the price. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I'll be brief, and just say that the PR-222 is a very good little radio. Programming is a little tricky, and the manual is really terrible. One you get it up and running though, it performs great. I can hit repeaters many miles away with the tiny stock antenna, and audio reports are excellent.

Nice little radio Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Not a bad little radio, programming wasn't as easy as expected, had to really read the instructions while programming before it times out and so on, plus the screen needs to be a little more instructional while programming, every feature is a little cryptic until you really read the manual. I also have a Yaesu FT-50R which I think is a lot more intuitive. Also have played a little with an Alinco DJ-280 220 radio which seems to be a little more simple than the PR-222. Overall, I really like the radio, excellent sensitivity, nice audio, good TX audio. The casing could be a little sturdier, feels like cheap hard plastic rather than the more rugged feel of most other HTs. I give it a high 4 out of 5.

dandy little radio Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Does everything it is supposed to. Delivers a full 5w out, and has a modern 12v NiMH rechargeable battery for reasonable battery life. Easy to program. Small.
