if an HT can be sexy, this one is Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My first introduction to Motorola DMR radios was the XPR7550e. Fantastic radio that performs above the competition - at a price of course. Since HTs seem to multiply like rabbits in the shack, I was looking for something a bit more small/light/discreet than the 7550e. Hytera makes a couple of candidates, and of course there are the CCR knock-offs that can be had. But once you've gone Moto, it is hard to go back, so enter the SL3500e.

I had friends who found the SL7500 and suggested that to me but it wasn't my thing - reminded me too much of a cell phone. The SL3500e is a great combination of small form factor, plenty of features (BT, WiFi, etc), and just enough capacity to make it usable (128 contacts/channels). I was able to load it up with a half dozen local repeaters and a dozen or so TGs on each, along with analog repeaters.

The radio punches way above its weight. It puts out 2W analog, 3W digital, and I can use it inside an office building, surrounded by a bunch of other office buildings, and still hit a repeater 10+ miles away. Flawless DMR performance just like my 7550e. But about half the size. Uses the same CPS as my other Moto radios so it was easy to program and get on the air.
