Excellent Product Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The Code Quick method of instruction is based on sound educational principles. One of the best ways to learn a language is through verbal associations. Code Quick applies this technique to learning the code by allowing the student to associate code symbols with sounds that are already familiar to the student. It works very well because learning code is very similar to learning a language.
I found the tapes to be enjoyable and the lessons carefully planned. I recommend it highly.

Hooked on code Quick works for me! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought the code quick audio tapes and cd rom program. Bottom Line: I diligently worked on it for an hour or so a day for 3 straight weeks. In three weeks I was able to pass my code test. The sound alikes to me were the way to learn it. It made it fun as opposed to the "castor oil" methods out there and just drilling it in with repetition. The computer program lets you set the speed of the code and tweak the tone. I practiced at 9 words a minute and when I sat down for the test 3 weeks later @ 5 words a minute I had no problems. The customer support was excellent.I e-mailed the inventor of the program (Jerry Wheeler) and received an in depth reply to my question the NEXT day! I would reccomend this program to anyone who wants to buckle down, spend some time and get the code done. It WORKS.

The Best! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
My first attempt at the code was with Gordon West's tapes, which sounded like sonar. They must have sit on the shelf for a very long time.

Then, I ordered the Code Quick on cassettes. It was easy to use and fun! It was easy to forget what you covered on the GW tapes, but the CQ lessons stuck!

All of the information in the booklet is helpful and geared to help you pass the code test with confidence.

If you want to learn the code then don't hesitate, you won't regret it!

It worked; UI is weak Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought the Audio CD/'puter program combination. After 3 weeks (starting basically frim ground zero), I was abvle to learn the code well enough to pass the 5 wpm test.

It uses a "sound-alike" approach--giving each character a phrase to memorize (example: D = DOG did it). While this certainly helped me pass the test and goes a long way to prevent teh counting of dits and dahs, I'm far from convinced that this is the best way to REALLY learn the code. Sound-alikes might well get in my way as I try to increase my speed to a leverl usable for real QSOs.

The sample QSOs are too uniform, IMHO. After a few, you know what is coming next.

The UI is a bit strange. Not horrible, but it takes a bit to get used to it.

My only real complaint is there is one (and only one) advertisement for Jesus in the lessons. The soudn alike for G is "GOD loves you" and the voice over gives a short come to God talk. I admit to using a different sound alike for G (God d**n it.)

All in all, a fine prgram. It served its purpose for stage 1 (passing element 1). It will be interesting to see how the approach works as I try to get up to 13 wpm or so.

It really works! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I had alot of fun going through this 30 day course. The author walks you through each letter with sound-a-likes, that will help you to remember each letter as a sound. No more counting dots and dashes for me. What also helped for me, was there is really no way to memorize the practice session that is given. With other programs, I was able to just memorize the tape, without learning the code.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone!

Great program! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I enjoyed using this program to learn CW. The sound alikes make it fun and best of all make it stick. Before I started the program, I had the idea that I was just gonna learn this to get by. Now CW is loads of fun and I WANT TO DO IT! I got the whole course (CDs, books, cards, and software), but a man could get by with the software alone.

My only gripe is that the computer generated QSOs seemed in the exact same format and after awhile you were unsure if you knew what was coming next in the QSO or you were learning it really well. I reccomend using the random QSOs...

Overall, the BEST way to learn CW!

Excellent!!!! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
For several years, I had a terrible time learning the code. I had tried everything from memorization to hypnosis tapes. Nothing worked! I would get so far and then CW would sound like noise.

Then I purchased Code Quick 2000 and began studying this system. Within a couple of months, I actually could recognize each letter. Code quick uses an ingenious system of mnemonics or sound-alikes, which for me was a natural way to lean the code. After learning the letters and sound-alikes, I was soon able to copy fairly reliably at 13 wpm.

I went on to pass the 5wpm code test and I think I probably could have passed the old 13wpm test.

I give Code Quick my highest recommendation, especially for older hams and logical minded computer types (like myself).

Simply the Best ! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This has to be the absolute best (and easiest) morse code training tool ever ! Using "sound-alikes", you learn the rhythm of morse code rather than memorizing dits and dahs so it's much easier to increase your receiving speed.

It took me from no code to 20 wpm extra (no plateaux). It's fun; not a chore like the other methods I'd tried (Koch included).

Some have said that this is not a good method of learning the code, but you can be sure that none of the detractors have ever used it ! Ask anyone who *has*, and you will hear them rave about it.

Negatives ? The UI could be made a little simpler for the non computer-literate, especially in the area of selecting the lessons. Sample QSOs could have more variety in them but I'm really nit-picking here and what's there is certainly more than adequate.

Visit their web site and see page after page of glowing reviews, many from people who'd been trying for many years to learn CW and using Code Quick, they finally did ! They even offer a 90 day money back guarantee ! It's not the cheapest, but in my (and many, many others) opinion, it's the best ! There's an audio tape and audio CD version too (for the non-computer user).
