Review Summary For : Flux Capacitor high power battery boost regulator
Reviews: 1MSRP: Varies with model
Description:
Made in U.S.A. Harrison labs Flux Capacitor has nothing to do with time travel, but is a dual phase high current boost regulator designed to power the most demanding 12 volt accessories and convert 10-12v to a constant 14.7 volts (manufacturer settable to your needs up to 18.9V) from 75 amps to 200 amps at the load depending on the model selected. 3 models available to suit your needs: 50 amp model (75 amps peak) 100 amp model (150 amps peak) 200 amp model (300 amps peak) Obviously you don't get something from nothing, so the 12V side will draw more current (up to 140A on the 100 amp model) to be able to produce 14.7V at 100 Amps. Boasting 98.4% efficiency, no moving parts such as fans or relays needed, auto limiting of the boost also known as current limiting. External fuses recommended to protect unit in case of short to prevent damage prevent damage. Remote turn on with +12v @ 500mA

Amazing boost regulator for sold state moblie amplifiers! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
While this product has been around for years, it appears nobody has reviewed it, so here is my review!
I successfully tested the 100 amp unit using (6) paralleled partially charged 12V AGM batteries from my off grid solar array.
The load used is a SGC SG-500 500 watt mobile HF amplifier and an Icom IC-7600.
No discernible RFI/EMI noticed on any HF band (I'm impressed) (subject to the user's installation and implementation.)
Voltage at input was a static 12.7VDC dropping to 12.1 under full load.
Unit factory set to 14.7v and as noted in literature, at full output the voltage will drop to 14.5V. I observed this and it is right to specifications.
Full output of amplifier is easily attained and maintained.
Used 10 minute intermittent test 10 seconds on, 10 seconds off at full power of 500 watts. Unit did not even to appear hot (just warm) but the amplifier was hot!

As it is so efficient, I did not see the need to add a key line circuit for on demand use, but if your installation requires it, the unit does have a 5 second soft start, so probably not a good idea unless you have to use it.
This is the best high power boost regulator on the market! Priced competitively it is the best value for your money with the least amount of complications.
Construction is robust, has mounting ears, made from brushed aluminum with a stainless steel look.
It appears to have brass stud bolts for high current electrical connections.
Unit is not waterproof and is designed to be used where not exposed to the elements.
Unit is made in the USA in Colorado. Manufacturer shipped promptly after unit was assembled (3 days lead time) and a choice of shipping is allowed to suit your needs. I used UPS and I had it in 2 days.
Call for a price quote as manufacturer will only quote a price if you are interested in buying due to some stipulation to sell in the U.S. market.
Price is appropriate for the results! You will be impressed!

Update:
After finding the product so useful, I just had to purchase another so now I have one in my fixed station battery backup and one in the mobile to power my SGC SG-500.
The SG-500 is powered by a 50Ah Bioenno LiFePo4 battery as to make the HF amp portable.
I noted that I could only get about 400W+ on most bands. After installing the Fluxcap between the SG-500 and the battery, I have now measured 500W+ on all bands all with 50W or less drive.
Impressive device is a must have for high power mobile or battery backup!
The device has built in protection to prevent deep discharge of your battery by automatically bypassing boost as battery voltage approaches 11vdc.
