A pleasant surprise! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
In the early 1970's Regency Electronic toured the country with a truck which exhibited a rather large system for copying morse code automatically that they had built to military specifications. The CW19 is the equivalent that will fit into your shirt pocket. I ordered the complete version on line for $49. Several weeks later the package arrived from Hong Kong. There were no instructions included, but it was easy to power up and try out the unit. Even using the tiny board-mounted pushbutton, my hand-sent code was copied very accurately. A quick email to Roger Ng VR2NG (from an link on the product web page) and I had the instructions for using the advanced feature menus. The only reason I'm not giving it a "great" is that no fitted enclosure is offered for those that desire a finished unit. No problem here - I'll mount it all in a plastic box, add an on/off switch and key connector and everything will be fine. You can see this code practice device and over 200 more at the "N4MW Code Practice Oscillator Museum" at http://www.n4mw.com.
