Love It Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just got mine from BridgeCom after reading the review in QST. Fast delivery. Code Plug Software same UI as for my HT. Read the radio to see default settings and heard a guy in the mid-west (analog FM via satellite) clear as a bell. That was an unexpected surprise. Started fresh and rolled my own code plug. Sitting now with 26 Channels that scan or select manually via knob, 2 Zones, 3 Bands, 3 of 6 Easy to Program Custom Function Buttons just to my liking, Hot Receiver, and Great Audio. And its small but easy to steer. A lot of great engineering went into the design.

For digital I'm using an openSPOT3 for D-Star, Fusion, Brandmeister, and the KM3T repeater in Goffstown, NH for NEDECN network.

Excellent Full Featured Radio Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Amazing what you get for this price. A DMR/Analog tri-band radio with cross band and cross mode repeater capabilities! Works fantastic and is very stable with firmware 1.08. The radio can be configured in about 19 different geographic versions using the Anytone Options software. Mode 14 will give you RX and TX on 400-520Mhz, 220-225Mhz, and 136-174Mhz. Just make sure you stay within the operation limits of your license. Build quality is excellent and programming is relatively easy as far as DMR goes. This is by far the best Chinese VHF/UHF radio out there that favorable competes against the the big three. I now own two of them.

Works as well as my 878 Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Bought my D578 for Christmas. Built a codeplug from scratch, not being sure of maybe some differences between 878 and 578. Used export tools in 878 cps for most data and changed all individual setting one-at-a-time in 578 cps - tested features as I went. Big roadblock for a bit was getting it unlocked - one user on 868/878/578 facebook page had given a link to a little piece of software which unlocked radio and set radio software type. It's called "AT_Options" and can be found here: http://members.optuszoo.com.au/jason.reilly1/AT_Options.zip (17kb) Band setting for radio listed in Model/Model Information on CPS - use AT_Options to unlock or set radio up as tri-band "Band 19 Mode 000018" - then check it's state (band) in CPS. I dont use 220. Have only set up for ham and 2meter and 440 (Mode 7). Also a Powerwerx radio which is same as regular dual band with an extra option in radio type setup. No problems with it. Took a bit to study how I want all my programmable buttons set up - so what I want to change with a programmable button is right where I intuitively expect.
I use it as a base station. I find the small screen better with a desk mounted magnifier positioned in front of it
Tested bluetooth with a bluetooth headset I use on my motorcycle for music - works well. Have not made many contacts with bt yet. Mostly working with handmike. I like it.

Awesome Radio! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
For the first time in my life, I was the lucky winner of a brand new radio from Bridgecom Systems in February 2020. The nice folks at Bridgecom sent me the radio, DV Mega Dual Band HotSpot, Custom Programming, and a Tri-band antenna.

Thank you Bridgecom!

Now, onto the radio review. I purchased and use an Anytone 878, so I am familiar with the CPS. Thanks to the folks at Bridgecom, they completed an initial code plug, that I modified for my local repeaters and personal favorites.

I have read in many reviews that folks struggle with "band error" messages when trying to input the 220 frequency stations into their radio CPS. Here's the trick. Make sure you "Import" from the radio into the CPS and build your code plug from this imported file. Even if it is a blank, brand new radio. This opens the 220 bands for you.

The build quality of this radio is superb. It works well, and the buttons and knobs feel extremely solid. Much like the 878, you have full customization options for presets on the buttons both on the handset and the face of the unit. The screen is incredibly clear, and while smaller-has a great deal of information laid out in a very easily readable manner. Customizing the color's and background is a nice touch.

I don't have a local digital repeater close enough to my location, but use a hotspot. It works great with the hotspot. When it comes to analog repeaters, it works great here too. I haven't played with the recording options, but I am sure that it will work well when I get to that point.

I have used the GPS module that comes included, and after loading my own version of the code plug, was happy to see my call sign on the aprs.fi site on the first try.

The handset has a really cool function, which allows you to transmit on the B Band while the radio is set to the A Band as the main channel.

With regards to the additional "goodies" received, the Anytone tri-band antenna seems well made, and so far has worked well for me to pick up analog stations from a decent distance.

I am very pleased overall with this radio, I have no complaints. While I didn't actually purchase this radio, the value of what you get in this unit is solid. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a mobile tri-band unit OR a solid base unit for your shack. Be sure to call or shop with my friends at Bridgecom, they will make DMR easy for you, and hook you up with a great product!

Radio not as described Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought this radio from Powerwerx which lists it as a triband radio ( as do many other vendors). The radio I received indicates that it is the UV III PRO triband model on the default display and in all of the shipping material, but in fact it is the standard part 90 dual band radio. Several other vendors also indicate their radio as the triband model but upon reading the specifications it is clear they are shipping a dual band radio. If there is some way to enable the 220 MHz band, it seems to be a closely kept secret. 220 MHz is not a deal breaker since I have other 220 radios, but it seems like false advertising.

In addition, the CPS software version 1.05 has difficulty finding the com port on my radio. I am running windows 10 but still had to install the virtual comport GD-32-64 and still have difficulty reliably setting the comport.

Other than that, the radio is easy to load a codeplug from the AT-878. It is necessary to hand set the parameters in the OPTIONAL Settings field since they are substantially different than the 878 settings.

I haven't tried the GPS or Bluetooth. I will try these in the future. I wrote this review at this time to warn buyers that they may not get the radio they think they are getting.
