Great Solution for Apartment Dwellers Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I live on the 9th floor of a 30 story concrete and metal building - so my options are very limited. But this gets me out - farthest so far is Israel to Canada on 20 mtrs with a 59 report using 100W SSB. I have two pairs of Shark mini Hamsticks in the Spider at the moment. My other antenna is a Chameleon F-Loop, Love them both. The Spider is mounted on an aluminum studio speaker tripod on my balcony and vertically half way between the railing and the balcony above me. Best bit is the solution is XYL approved (it reminds her of an umbrella and can be removed on demand ;-)

Excellent NVIS performance on 40m so far Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I am very pleased with the performance and construction of this Chameleon unit. It was purchased for HF portable/EMCOMM use on 40m, 60m and 80m NVIS. With this antenna mounted at 10' and 11.5' height on military aluminum camouflage poles over my poor rock and clay soil in a forest- driven by a Yaesu DX3000 (100 watts) through 125' of LMR 400 coax from the shack and then 30' of LMR 240 coax at the antenna and using two MFJ 1640T Ham Sticks on 40m, I am able to get 5-7/5-8 reports at 350 mile radius ( all I tried so far) from my shack to POTA folks on 40m during the afternoons with the band going up and down. This Ham Stick mount is narrow banded so I am using a LDG remote tuner at the antenna base.
