Review Summary For : Nagoya NA-320A tri-band HT antenna
Reviews: 2MSRP: 18.00
Description:
Keeping up with the growing trend in tri-band handhelds, Nagoya has recently released the NA-320A. It's a full length 17.75" (45cm) tri-band antenna terminated with an SMA-F connector. That's about 2" longer than an NA-771. Getting a Dual Band VHF/UHF antenna to play nicely on 220 is no easy feat, but they were able to accomplish this by starting with a full size quarter wave antenna and working from there. This HT antenna covers 144/220/440.

Worthless on 220 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was getting poor performance on 220, so I checked this antenna with both a Comet CAA500 MkII and a NanoVNA. Both revealed the SWR on 220 to be between 10:1 and 12:1. 2m and 440 are useable, but not great. 220 is obviously unusable. You get what you pay for.

Excellent tri band antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is my first tri-band for an HT. I recently bought a UV-5R3 explicitly for the 220 band and not for 2 and 440. These radios are a very inexpensive way to get on 220 but come with a separate antenna for that band which is at best a compromise. Any aftermarket antenna for a HT is touted as worthy an upgrade but many fall short. I wanted an antenna that I could have some gain on 220 and not worry about swapping it out.

I already own an HT for dual band use and the 320A for 220 seemed a good fit. I would give it 5 stars for the 220 band but at 17 inches it is top heavy for a UV-5R3. Still for the price of the radio and the antenna you cannot get on 1.25m for this amount of money.
