What a great piece of hardware! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have found this unit to be an excellent tool and boy does it look pretty too. Surely this software is a developing product but it's already keeping me up a few extra hours last few days. It's worth having and time is very important to me and this display is hard to miss!

Installed in my den room and will split the video to feed additional displays throughout. At the moment I have a $218.00 Philips 50" 4k - UHD display I found at Walmart. Great product and so much to understand within the Geochron menu. Sleep is overrated!

Worth every penny and then some! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I always wanted a Geochon for ever and I finally bit the bullet. I really didn't think this was a neccessity, so I held off. But I enjoy it on a daily basis, that is not something one can say about many purchases. I have it on a 55 inch UHD TV and looks beautiful. I don't really understand the negative reviews as everything works as described. I just added the ham radio bundle and now I'm enjoying the added features.

Sharp looking addition to the shack Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Update: March 22, 2022

The RBN callsign filter does not work, period. The Ham Radio Bundle delivers nothing but frustration.

Update: I added the Ham Radio layer but as I told the Geochron tech, it’s not yet ready for prime time. Very glitchy. RBN reports hit & miss, nothing consistent on either DX cluster or RBN. I feel like I wasted my money on the Ham Radio layer and definitely ended the every 3 month auto renewal. The bare bones Geochron looks great but they have more work to do on the Ham Radio layer.

I paired mine with a Dell 32" S3221QS 4K curved display and it's absolutely stunning. Colors are vibrant, lettering razor sharp. Love the real-time wireless weather updates. Setup was easy sans a brief moment of operator error. Andrew at Tech Support answered my emails within an hour. Highly recommend this product!

disappointed Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I owned the 4K Atlas for just under a year. Works good if you just want the basic map in 4K. When you add the Ham Radio layer, the geochron can't handle it. The thing will just keep rebooting. Support is useless! They basically keep saying to turn off the layers that you subscribe to or trade the devise in for one that can handle it. So, pay the subscription for a product that can't handle it.
Geochron isn't for me.

Atlas 1 not up to added programs crashing Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought 2 of geochorn atlas 1 I added earthquake and ham radio programs to them i am getting gray line drop outs i have to turn off most of the features to keep it running i see they have added a new one more powerful atlas 2 and do not sell atlas 1 anymore i can see why wasn’t up to the task I had these less than an year feel abandon!!! all they want to do is sell me a new one for $$$$$ after i spent 800. There is one positive thing they do respond to your email quickly but no joy for me.

Outstanding ! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
A great addition to any shack - using a 43" Vizio 4K TV. Basic Amateur Radio Version. Thought about adding for many years, but could not justify cost of the old mechanical version. Support is Reasonable.

Love it! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I drooled over the Geochron mechanical version for years but couldn’t justify the expense. But with the new electronic version I just could not resist.

Hooked it up to a nice but inexpensive 4K tv and it is an AWESOME addition to my shack. It has worked flawlessly, has been completely stable (no glitches, reboots, etc.) and reliably provides useful information.

I love it!

Love the Ham Option! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
As a clock collector I have been looking at the Geochron clocks for years! I recently stumbled on their site and saw the Atlas 2 (4k video). WOW - it's off the charts phenomenal!

You can load your ADIF file into the database and it will log a point between your station and the station you spoke with! (I would love to have the option to have it automatically updated from, QRZ.com, or hamqsl.com or some other service vs. having to dump it to a file and uploading it but, overall it's GREAT!)

This will tell you band conditions, the max usable frequency and other information (available on the optional HAM package). You can literally put your call sign on the map (Nice for station Pics). All the information you need remains updated as you're on the radio.

All that said, don't try this on a monitor with less than 4k. A 4k screen is what it is designed for...I tried it on a lessor monitor and the video was fuzzy/poor. However, again, if you're looking for an excellent chronometer and tool in the ham shack - this is WELL worth it!

Great map to, but not useful for ham radio Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
The Geochron Atlas 4k gives you a beautiful STATIC map with many nice features. As a map display I like it very much.

However, having the map centered at noon, means that the gray line is fixed and your QTH is moving across the monitor. I would like to have the option for the QTH to be fixed at the center of the map and the gray line moving. I submitted it as a suggestion to Geochron.

Regarding the ham-radio bundle, I find the DX spots often do not download. I really hope a new version makes the Geochron more suitable for ham radio. For this purpose, Hamclock is far superior.

Offers so much, and updates will offer more Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I went onto Geochrons website and registered with them. I immediately received their 10% off coupon, only valid for 5 days, marketing genius. I was like I may as well pull the trigger. I'm glad I did. In all of 5 minutes, I hooked it up to my 65" 4k TV in my living room. This thing has so many overlays, that if you turn them all on you can't see the map! I especially like the Satellites, ISS, SpaceX Dragon and I am waiting to see if the SpaceX Starship will be included once launched (Due to launch today!)

You really have to experiment with this thing, and adjust for what you are interested in. I can see me turning off some overlays and concentrating of the live weather overlay during hurricanes and other high impact weather events.

My favorite part of buying this thing is supporting a small business.

My next favorite part is the customer service; I sent an email the generic customer service email recommending a live Maximum Usable Frequency overlay and a live Aurora map overlay. I got two emails back within a few hours. The first from customer service thanking me for my suggestions, the second from the owner Patrick telling me that those upgrades are coming. I'm going to email them again today to suggest a live earthquake map overlay as well as well as a volcanic activity map overlay, and maybe a live radiation map overlay.

I highly recommend the Geochron Atlas 4k V2. I have only had it a week, so I can not speak yet to it's longevity, but it's functionality so far is superb.
