Description:
Remote Keyer Interface (RKI) is a free utility program that makes it possible to remotely send CW through any FlexRadio Flex-6000 transceiver, without requiring a Maestro Control-Console. RKI works with a stand-alone keyer or a straight key at your operating location. No additional hardware, other than the Flex-6000 transceiver, is required at the radio location. The software is available, for free, on the "Remote Keyer Interface" groups.io web-site.

Thanks to NQ6N Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Before I decide to buy a FlexRadio, I presumed this is an in-built feature of SmartSDR but it wasn't.

With this free software, now i can connect my straight key to me Macbook and operate anywhere without a Maestro.

Maestro is a good piece of product. But if one take out a Maestro to play at workplace during lunch break, colleagues would stare at you. A laptop wouldn't.

Works great, easy to implement, software is free! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.

The Remote Keyer Interface 'solution' works great for me!, and it's free!

The ability to work CW with a keyer or straight-key when I'm away from home is the main selling point, but RKI is also useful when operating at home with my Flex-6600... It makes it possible for me to hear side-tone on the computer where I'm running SmartSDR. FlexRadio doesn't provide this functionality unless you use their Maestro Control Console at your operating position.

The RKI software is typically installed on the Windows computer where the operator is running FlexRadio's "SmartSDR" operating software for Flex-6000 series transceivers. The Remote Keyer Interface groups.io site also has details for a simple DIY interface circuit that connects your stand-alone keyer to a serial port (built-in, or via a USB-to-Serial adaptor) on the computer where the RKI software is installed.

Check out the "Remote Keyer Interface" site, on groups.io, to see how easy it is to set up this functionality.
