Great portable antenna! Well worth the money! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
UPDATE: The Sota/pota model has now been up for 2 months while I was making sure the HOA was not going to write me a ticket...Nothing so far! So because of the killer performance so far I ordered 2 DX commander Classics. I am turning in my paperwork to the HOA for a Flagpole! Yes a Flagpole! I love this Vertical so much I bought one for my Father-in-Law for his Birthday!

I found it very easy to set up and that going to be important when hitting the State Parks for POTA activations. Performance is killer!

Because of the performance of the POTA/SOTA Dx commander I am looking at scrapping my FlagPole antenna build for his new 7m rapide. Yes I live in an HOA! They only allow flag poles or something that can't be seen from the street...The rapide is 7m and my house will just cover it.

Absolutely amazing antenna! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had the DX Commander Expedition antenna for a little over a year now and it has become one of my top 2 absolute favorite antennas to take portable. I do a lot of Parks on the Air activations and this antenna is everything you could want. A resonant, multi band antenna that is light weight, compact, and easy to set up and take down. I made mine for 40, 20, 17, 15, and 10 meters. It usually takes me about 15 minutes to setup, and a little less to tear down. It doesn't take up a lot of space when portable so it is easy to use in any area. Dipole and long wire antennas require much more space than this one, and there is less chance of people walking into it. I've also used this antenna at Field Day and Winter Field Day and it was the antenna of choice for us all. It even beat out the Hex Beam we had set up! The quality of materials is second to none. Everything you need to build the antenna is included, and they also include extra parts incase you lose something or make a mistake (including more wire than you will need). The DX10 wire that Callum has made for his antennas is amazing. It's silky smooth, doesn't kink, and can handle 1500 watts no problem while still being thin enough to be manageable out in the field! The mast is very high quality, rugged, and designed with field use in mind. The walls are thick and rigid and you don't need to worry about it breaking. It also collapses to only 24"! The driven element and counterpoise plates are strong and rigid as are the spreader plates. The SO-239 connector is soldered and sealed to prevent moisture and also includes a length of self amalgamating tape for your coax side for a more permanent installation. I've done several videos on YouTube about the antenna you can check out. Here's a link to my first activation with it: https://youtu.be/V1whmtibkuA
I highly recommend this antenna to everyone.

Great Product and Excellent Design! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had a DX Commander Expedition that was gifted to me by another ham. It took me a little longer to build since I am currently recovering from spinal surgery and had to wait for assistance from my daughter and wife. However, I was able to build all the elements, ground radials, and the plates with minimal assistance.

After about a 3 day build, I am up and running with the 10m, 17m, 20m, and 40m elements cut per Callum's instructions. To my surprise, SWR shows as less than 1.5:1 across not only the bands for which elements are cut, but also for 6m and 15m. Additionally, it is actually less than 1.4:1 on the entire U.S. VHF ham band and tunes easily on 30m.

I did try it on a few close VHF repeaters and it works, but it will not be replacing my primary station antenna for VHF. However, it is nice to have options.

Well designed and if you take your time it is a breeze to build and deploy. VERY light and very rugged. Overall a great product!

Definitely Portable, Definitely Worth it Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Fantastic antenna system. I set mine for 10, 17, 20, 40 and consequentially 15 meters. Initial element and radial setup time about 2 hours but you only have to do this once. First field deployment took 30 minutes but will definitely get faster. I followed Callum's measurements to the centimeter and every band was perfectly resonant. Would highly recommend, fun build and great product quality makes for a great antenna!

Good portable antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased this antenna from M0MCX and it arrived in Alaska in about two weeks. Assembly took an afternoon and I setup the antenna for 17, 20, 30 and 40 meters. It also works on 15 meters, off the 40 meter lead. I cut the antenna elements to the recommended lengths and SWR on all bands was less than 1.7.

I took the antenna on a trip to Denali National Park and worked about 40 stations from there one night. Setup took about 30 minutes. Probably will be faster with experience. This should be a good addition to those activating parks.

The materials package was complete, securely packaged and the fiberglass pole is well constructed. The wire provided is awesome, haven't seen anything like it. Overall a good antenna.
