Good choice for 4 square antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I installed one for 80m. It is considerable less expensive without the controller; remote switching is by Green Heron controller.

I set it up with wire verticals connected to a 100' tower and feed with RG-6 phasing lines. Now 20 radials for each vertical over 36 radials for 160m. No baluns. With vertical set to 3510, as in the manual, dump power was 2% at 3.5, 0 at 3.6, and rising to 15% at 3.8. After adjusting verticals to 3.56, the dump power at 3.8 is 10%.

SWR curve in the 4-square mode is flat, around 1.2, but in the omni mode is peaky, with low SWR in CW part but higher in the SSB band.

For all but close stations, the performance in the desired location is comparable to or slightly better than a 90' high dipole. F/B is around 15-20 db.

I tried to join 80m radials with those with 160, but with little impact on each vertical impedance. Also it seemed that F/B was better and gain similar with only 4 35' radials on top of but disconnected from 160m radials.
