Good little antenna for the price Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Well I wanted a multi-band antenna for work and I travel to work by plane so it needed to be compact to bring in the plane. I found this antenna on Ebay for about $65 dollars and I had a mag mount at home for it so i could mount it on the side of a building where my office is located around 60ft above ground.
I really didn't expect much from this application but i said better then nothing. I put it up ran about 50ft of LMR 400 to office and i put the lead to the 40m band. I tuned up using a At-100 Pro 2 tuner and i heard signals so the Aurora Net was coming on i said i will give it a try why not. I called in and Jim Ve6JRR in southern Alberta so about 1500 Miles could hear me and another station in BC a VE7 station gave me a 5/8 I was very content knowing i can make a contact or two from work from time to time. I think its a very stiff antenna no give so if it was hit by something by chance it wouldn't handle it well. The changing of the Jumper Lead could be a pain as well for myself its staying on the 40m input and i am leaving it there. If you want a cheap mobile- Portable antenna I would give this one a go especially for the price and the quality seems great. Take care all 73's
