We will see what mother nature thinks! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Shipping carton was small, I ordered direct from MFJ. Arrived on time with Fed EX. I was surprised when I opened the box it is completely disassembled. You have to mark on the piping 12 inches from the bottom so you know not to go past this mark, and pull it apart with your antenna on top only to come crashing to the ground. You will have to put on every locking collar piece on each connecting pipe, and tighten down. When I ordered one of the other MFJ tripod and masts, it all came assembled. Maybe I got a demo from a shop??? The heavy duty clamps are lighter duty on this mast (1908 HD) than the first mast I bought. It is not hard to assemble, just a surprise I wasn't expecting. I bought the mast to use as a support for a 43 foot vertical wire, for a homebrew 43 foot vertical. If you use all of the parts, the mast would extend to about 48 feet. I decided to leave the top section off, as I will not be guying this mast as a vertical antenna, and do not want unnecessary stress on it. The poles pulled up into position easily. Now we will have to let our winds attack it and see how well it survives. It is bracketed off of a garage for base support. If it holds up well over the winter, MFJ will sell me one more for my dipole, and I will get rid of the metal pipe I used for that.
