Great travel radio Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I got this as a travel radio. It's so cheap that if it were broken, lost, or stolen, I wouldn't bat an eye and just get another. The sound from the little speaker is excellent for its size. Build quality is pretty good for the price, and a battery charge lasts a long time with casual use.

AM and FM reception are excellent. Shortwave is an afterthought; it is the most insensitive SW receiver I have ever used, yet somehow it also overloads very easily. Hooking it up to a good external antenna increases signal strength but also brings massive BCB overload. I found a 20' indoor wire to be the best compromise between reception and overload. There is a modification on YouTube to shield the display to reduce its radiated noise and therefore improve SW reception, but I did not find it effective. That said, it's fine for receiving the few remaining powerhouse stations in the 49 meter band at night.

It was very outstanding. Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I liked it very much, and yes I was concerned with the HF reception. So I put a 1 foot long antenna on my KX3, and HF reception was very close to the V115! But hey why would I buy it for HF, when I also have a KX3, Sony icf 2002, an icf7600, G90, and many others. I like it for its great sound, even has a sub woofer on a pocket radio, not to mention the micro SD card which I put 5000 songs and audio books I like. I can also use it as a voice recorder or record music off the radio. So the lithium battery, works for a long time and recharges by USB. Perhaps the previous reviewer didn't read the description of its features, or maybe thought he could get $1000 performance for $23, mine was on sale for $18, so I got 2!

Barely worth the price Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Works fine in AM and FM. Unless you hook it to long wire antenna, or tune to a super-strong SW station, the SW reception is almost useless. I bought it on a whim because I’d seen it mentioned online and was curious. Tuning is frustrating. It’s a cute little radio about the size of your hand, but spend a bit more money and get something more reliable. I bought it for about $23 on Amazon.

Great little radio for the money Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I am finding that I use this radio more and more for various functions. It does a decent job on receiving on AM is excellent on FM and pulls in the strong stations on SW. For casual SW use it does fine. The other functions are what stand out. You can record FM, AM or SW directly to an SD card, record notes on what is heard or play back MP3's through the more than loud enough speaker.
The controls are simple enough to not really need the manual. All buttons are clearly marked. It automatically saves any search on any band to memory. It comes with a rechargeable battery via the built in USB port, earbuds, lanyard with attached stand, adjustable brightness and contrast on the display as well.

It simply for the price shines really bright for the many things you can use it for.
