Does what it's supposed to Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This accessory for the Elecraft W2 SWR/wattmeter takes the guesswork out of the meter's LED string (especially on the 2KW range), and shows power and SWR digitally with a peak-hold readout. The meter can also hookup to your PC with a software program that does the same thing, but there may be times when your computer isn't on, or you want to run something else on it. I also have the program on my PC, and can easily switch between the two with a 3.5mm stereo A/B switch (they can't be run simultaneously).

The blue LCD with white digits is very bright, easy to read, and build quality is excellent. Hookup is plug and play with the supplied 3.5mm stereo male-to-male cable, and "Y" power adapter cable.

One nit pick, which doesn't alter my 5 star rating:
The supplied cables are short, especially the power one. The display can only go about a foot or so away from the meter. No problem for my needs, but if you want to have it farther away, you'll have get a longer stereo cable, and somehow acquire a longer power cable with the correct sized coaxial connectors.

Overall, I find the DDU a useful accessory, and I feel the price is fair.

Really handy Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
If you can't follow the W2's blinking leds, this is the answer - a nice bright digital readout. Comes with a Y-connector to split power between it and the W2 plus a stereo cable to connect the two. No programming, no com ports, no hassles. You can put the display unit away from the W2 if your shack design requires. I like it.
