| Great Program |
Time Owned: 3 to 6 months. |
I am running 2.07B8 with the added modes Olivia, contesta, and rttym. I love it, use it everyday and the MT63 mode is used on MARS everyday under conditions where stations can't hear each other.
Is it all things to all people, Nope! but what program is. It is constantly being updated and is a continuous work in progress.
I notice that all that have negative remarks are noted by their absence from the MIXW Yahoo group.
You can get any answer to a problem from members or the author in the group. The best $50 bucks I ever spent!
Most of the problems stated are of the "a poor carpenter always blames his tools" varity.
If you want a program that incorporates all the new modes, does a decent job in contests etc. I can not say enough about it. As to US support, anyone that has dealt with Glenn will tell you he is fantastic.

Brilliant programme, I also use it /Portable from my mobile home at my works qth, mainly PSK31 and RTTY, sometimes monitor SSTV, yep, it is as good as it gets. If "pilot error" creeps in at any time, an email to Nick will give you a fast response which will get you back on track. I run a RIGblaster pro and Nomic at the home station, and a home made box of tricks and laptop in my mobile home. Super programme, keep up the good work Nick,

| Works great,,, if you can figure out how to get it running |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
For additional info, please see my review under the "Interfaces: radio to computer; radio to amplifier" > "MixW RigExpert USB Transceiver Interface (Tiny Version)".
This is a very versitile software. Once you get it running, it will work with many digital modes: CW, PSK, RTTY, FSK, Hellschreiber, FAX, SSTV, etc, etc.
The problem is in getting it running.
It should have been a no-brainer for the seller of this program to get complete configuration info from the owners of all the popular radios and to offer them as part of the documentation (of which there's d@#^*d little). This would make setup almost plug-n-play. Sure, sound card levels must be adjusted, but first you have to get the computer and transceiver talking to each other. In my opinion, I spent way to long on this task. While I had some hardware problems with my computer, once they were resolved I still had to cut-n-try to get the MixW program, the computer and the radio communicating with each other.
Help files? Tech support? You better have good tech buddies and Elmers. The US distributer doesn't answer his e-mail and keeps East coast banker's hours for phone support.
Since I work for Intel I was finally able to figure it out and make some on-air contacts, but it wasn't plug-n-play as it should have been.
Otherwise, great program. Performs as advertised, once you get it running.
Regards,
Stew

| Best Combination of Features |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
I have tried most digital packages out there. Some of them have a feature that may equal or exceed the same feature in MixW (some allow more digital modes, etc.), but when all the features in MixW are looked at collectively compared to all the features in other packages, MixW beats them all. MixW provides great CAT control of my IC-735, spots DX, performs call sign data lookups from a CD, logs QSOs, keeps track of prior contacts and points earned in contests, and decodes most popular digital modes.
The collective performance of MixW is so good that I hesitate to suggest improvements not wishing to discourage anyone from trying this software. Improvements I would like to see someday include:
1. Panoramic PSK decoding as is found in Digipan and MultiPSK,
2. A means of creating user generated contest layers that would permit scoring the less popular worldwide and regional contests,
3. Additional digital modes,
4. More logger features including the ability to sort and distingush between the means of QSLs sent and confirmed (card, LoTW, eqsl),
5. Progress towards awards analysis (DXCC, WAS, etc.).

Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
This is one excellent software suite for the digital modes, worth every penny. I had some problems getting the software configured for my system, but I blame that on my lack of understanding, and not reading the manual before trying to get on the air with it. Got the problems resolved, and now having a blast on RTTY, PSK, and the rest. If you want the ability to get on digital with just one software package, with rig control, logging, and practically any digital mode you can think of to operate, get this one!

| Versatile Software! |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
| I've been using MixW for two years and it is probably the best bargain in amateur software! I tried virtually all the freewara available for the various modes but MixW does it all with a single interface AND it performs better in each digital mode than any other single piece of software I have used. I use it successfully with PSK31, RTTY, Packet, Hell, and CW. This is a powerful program that works with software TNCs for an easy and inexpensive setup. This is software you can trust; the updates are welcome additions to an already excellent program. |

| Best of the best |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
| Mixw32 is the best of the best in digi mode software. I've used it for over 3 years on PSK, CW, Heil, SSTV, RTTY as well as for logging. The rig control works great with my TS-440. Just click on the DXcluster and your on the freqency. It can't get any easier than that. Nick and Dennis always seem to amaze me with new features. The support is fantastic. I have even heard rumours that version 3 will auto identify the mode of the signal. You can't go wrong. Try it out and if it dosen't suite your taste delete it. If not $50 is a bargain for such a feature rich and useful program |

| The best digital mode program by far! |
Time Owned: 6 to 12 months. |
For $50, this program is an outrageous bargain for anyone who is interested in the digital modes. This is a well-written, slick, and nearly bug-free program that enables the user to operate almost all of the soundcard-driven digital modes. If this weren't a ham radio program it would cost many times the $50 pricetag.
The program features excellent logging in conjunction with operating. In fact the log is good enough that I have come to use it even on non-digital mode qsos, i.e. SSB. If you are interested in eQSL, the program effortlessly will upload your log to eQSL via the internet. This takes all of the hassle out of eQSLing.
The program has extensive macro capabilities, and they work very well. I have little time to learn how to program, and yet I have had no trouble writing even fairly complex macros. This is a tribute to MixW's intuitive and well-documented approach to macros.
I have successfully used MixW with the Yaesu FT-1000MP, the FT1000MP Mark V, the Yaesu FT897, the FT857, and the FT900. Rig control worked fine on all of these rigs--I could point and click to tune to a desired signal and center the bandpass effortlessly. This is the best rig control program I've ever used.
The authors, Nick and Denis, are constantly upgrading MixW. For $50 the user gets plugged into a continuing development of the digital modes, with excellent user support.
MixW features an attractive interface that makes operating the digital modes a pleasure. The learning curve is not at all steep. The user interface is really remarkable on this program; it is one of those intuitive classics like Lotus 1-2-3 was in its day. I like playing with new digital mode programs, but I always come right back to MixW because none of the others can compare to it. If you are serious about operating the digital modes, this is the one to get. |

| Excellent Multi Mode Digital Package |
Time Owned: 3 to 6 months. |
This is an excellent value in Ham radio. This software does just about any digital mode you need. I use MixW 2.12 daily for MARS operation and it does a superb job on MT63, RTTY, BPSK31, Amtor, and Pactor.
Highly recommended. |
