Great basic house and ARES/FD power Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
After many years of "winging it" in a rural setting that used to have frequent (due to bad feeder wiring) but now not as bad power outages I finally invested in one of the luggable quiet inverter generators to at least maintain critical house appliances and heat. We had a 10 hr subzero outage a few years ago and while the wood fireplace kept the mainfloor warm the basement was already in the 40s plus no lights. I did a bunch of online customer/professional reviews before purchasing this Wen unit almost a year ago. I got the advice of appliance repair guys and published specs from the power company for what I'd need to power our fridge/freezer plus the furnace blower for heat only and found that to be well within the range of this Wen unit. The Wen is rated for 2350 surge 1900 constant watts, weighs just over 40 lbs. I put in low range synthetic oil since it might need to be used in MN subzero WX and always use no ethanol premium with a squirt of stabil. The nice thing about this model is it's got a gas shutoff to run the carb dry after each use. It also has an ECO mode and plenty of warning LEDs (eg, low oil) along with 12V output and a USB charging port. I managed to buy it for a deal from Home Depot last year free ship but the listed MSRP is just $20 more than I paid. So far all I've used it for was the 2020 lockdown Field Day at home and quarterly test runs. No 220v & it won't handle our 4kw shared well water pump but my take on that is we have drinkable jugs in a survival kit and we can always drain the 50 gal water heater for sanitary use. It'd be awkward to use more than a few days anyway but at least we stay warm and don't lose hundreds of dollars of food. And might even be able to do some ARES operating. 73 K0VH in Minnesota
