Excellent Value Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've only had the m70 for a few weeks. I use it with my Yaesu FTDX 9000 Contest. I get unsolicited good comments about my audio. To get a real condenser mic that works well at that price point make a this a winner. It does have a weighted base and the switches are comfortable to use. The locking switch for rag chewing is much easier to use than on the Kenwood mc60 which is also a very good microphone. It is a very good looking microphone that matches well with all Yaesu gear.

Fails to impress Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The only disappointing Yaesu product I own.

The out-of-the-box impression is "cheap". All lightweight plastic construction. Soft, squooshy PTT and lock keys. No up/down buttons. The only switch is a low-end roll off.

Compared to my Kenwood MC-60, which sells for only $10 more, the M-70 again appears cheap. The MC-60 is MUCH heavier and has a more solid feel, has up/down buttons, impedance switch, and switchable internal preamp. The buttons have a much more positive feel.

It does work, but fails to impress. Yaesu slipped on this one.
