The Best Logging Program On The Market! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
DXtreme Software's "Station Log 14" is a great program and the DXtreme people are extremely helpful. They have exceptionally good email support and will frequently answer a question that I might have either that same day or the next day. They are great people to do business with.

I have also tried the AC Log by N3FJP, which is a particularly good logging program. But what I have found when comparing AC Log with Station Log 14 is that Station Log 14 can record many more details about a QSO. In my opinion, Station Log 14 has more powerful search features also.

Station Log 14 is a rather detailed logging program. As I stated above, you can record many details about your QSO. If you look on the right side of the main page you can see that there are drop down menu boxes to record what rig, antenna, accessory, and power that you used for that contact. Once you enter the call sign of your contact, Station Log 14 looks up their location information and records it, determines if they are a LOTW user and even records real time solar information for that time period, such as the Solar Flux Index, A Index and K Index. Station Log 14 also auto-fills the frequency and mode fields with data it receives from your radio if you interface it with a free downloadable program called Omni-Rig.

There are many other details that one can record about a QSO on other pages of the program. You can set Station Log 14 to automatically upload the QSO to LOTW as soon as you have finished recording the QSO in the log. Later you can also download LOTW confirmations to Station Log 14. You can also print QSL labels for mailing and even scan an image of the incoming QSL cards when you receive them.

DXtreme Software has made it easy to log FT-8 contacts with just 2 mouse clicks once the WSJT-X program window shows that the FT-8 contact was completed.

There is a full featured DX Spot Checker in Station Log 14 which connects with whatever spotting network you choose. DX Spot Checker constantly monitors every spot that comes in and compares it to your log. It then notifies you by voice audio, (if you choose to turn on the audio announcements), if you already have that entity worked or verified, or if it is a new entity that you have not logged yet.

There are several types of searches and reports of your database that are available too. Station Log 14 will integrate with DX Atlas, Bandmaster, Ham Cap and Omni-Rig making it an even more powerful logging program with the many added features. The good thing about these four programs that will integrate with Station Log 14 is that they are free downloads.

There is much more to this logging program than what I have covered. You can go to https://www.dxtreme.com/prods_dxslme.htm and scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on "Take A Tour With Bob." On that same page you can also click on "Read the data sheet (it tells you everything) and view the screen shots." If you click on the "Take A Tour With Bob," once the tour page opens you can scroll down to the bottom of that page, (after first reading Bob's Dark-eyed Junco bird story), and click the blue arrow that points to the right to continue the tour. With all the great features that this program has, as well as the fantastic email support, I believe that this program is definitely worth purchasing. I cannot think of anything more one would want in a logging program. Station Log 14 covers pretty much everything!

FYI, if you do any shortwave listening, DXtreme Software also sells a GREAT and very detailed SWL logging program called "Monitor Log 12." It is somewhat similar to Station Log 14 but way different in many ways. I presently use Monitor Log 12 for SWLing and I have used several earlier versions of this program for many years, way before I received my ham license in 2009. It is awesome!
