A very good built microphone from Yaesu handheld's Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This mic is a plus from the older mics or so say.It is well built and the audio dynamic element is very good in audio response.Listening on others who are using them instead of other mics and are talking on the other end of the radio has a very good audio coming out from their Yaesu FTDX101D/MP's. They audio's response can change by going into the radio's Menu on the FTDX101D/MP's radios in "Operation Settings" under " TX Audio " and also by going in the Menu on : "Radio Settings" and "Mode SSB" ,you can change the frequencies from WIDE or NARROW by scrolling down on the "Mode SSB" and scrolling down again and find "TX BPF SEL" and change it from WIDE for Rag chewing ( 50-3050hz ) to NARROW high voice (eck..)sounds lol ( 400-2600Hz ) for DXing calling (it will punch through the PILE UP's) on your favorite calling BANDS. You can Monitor your audio by pushing the ( MONI ) button in front of the radio under ( BK-IN ). You will hear a big difference when you change this SETTINGS in the MENU......So it's a keeper for me,cause it useful when all else fails in another mic and quick to change it as well too.A lot of operators will give the radio's some bitter REVIEWs due to not reading or Learning the radio's full output and it's potential's built design from other radio's or BRAND's.There will never be a perfect radio out there, that's why they make different brands with features that you like and many different radio's on the bench......lol.... oh well.....that's my opinion on this very good mic .
