replacing a wire OCF dipole, exceed expectations Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have had a 265 foot OCF dipole up for several years, 40 Meter SWR at the CW portion was not good.

My 25 year old 2 element quad on tower 2 finally died, and I decided to fix the 40 meter issue.

after watching a near by ham install several JK antennas, and reading many reviews, I opted for their 402.

I put it together and hoisted it myself ( it is on Rohn 25 with a hazer), let me point out I am north of 76, and if I go near a tower with a harness, my wife declares its grounds, well you know...

For a comparison I have a C31XR that has been up on another tower for 22 +years.

JK Experience? Exceptional, maybe even better.

The antenna is at 60 feet, not the recommended 70, I followed the instructions and set it up for CW. Initial SWR was low at 6.900. After talking with Ken he told me how much to shorten the antenna element, 2 inches, which put the SWR exactly were I wanted it.

performance, Like my C31XR, I make a contact from every station I call, using 500 watts. The 40 meter performance has exceeded my level of expectation.

BTW - We have already 50 MPH plus gusts, no issues.

In 60 plus years in the hobby, I have never experienced this kind of support.

Should I need another HF antenna it will be a JK, period. NO - Empathic- JK period.
