Easy to set up Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I use a FTM-100DR and HRI-200 for my Wires-X Node (and Room) and it has been working perfectly for years. Initially I ran Wires-X on a Windows 7 PC, then later switched to a Windows 10 PC. If you follow the directions it's pretty easy to set up, but for those who need help, a call to Yaesu tech service will get you going quick. IMHO Fusion and Wires-X is the most versatile amateur digital mode, plus it has the option of digital wide mode (12.5khz).

Fantastic Software Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Yaesu WiresX software works extremely well.

I have used it for years with zero issues. Great support from Yaesu too.

I sold all my Open Spots and just run in direct mode.

Fussy and klugey, may not work with some PCs. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
What I liked:
I liked the IDEA of being able to turn my desktop radio into a high-powered C4FM/Wires-X hotspot with a wider coverage area... that idea was just a fantasy.

What I don't like:
1. Hard to get working. Period. Tried it on three different Windows computers, Windows 7, 10 and 11. Tried it with an FT3DR and with an FTM300.
2. Documentation is in nonsense English. Hello Yaesu, is it that hard for you to find an English translator?
3. Documentation is hard to find, bits and pieces of important information are spread all over. What you need is not in a logical order. Prepare to download and decipher a lot of stuff not in the manual that came with your radio. Prepare to spend a lot of time on Youtube or on user groups asking for help.
4. Wires-X software should work better, on a wide variety of PCs.... I mean Windows 7, 10 and 11, Apple, whatever. Why can't it be Plug-and-play like all our other Amateur apps?
5. Wires-X software quits, or pops up: "Not found audio device" (huh?) and won't finish booting up. Had to plug a mike into one PC mike jack to stop this - even though I was not using analog audio and did not need a mike.
6. Graphics are old-school, like Windows 3.1 or DOS.
7. The Wires-X software should adapt to the computer. You should not have to Fiddle around to make the computer adapt to the Wires-X vaporware, or go through this each time Windows forces a driver update into your computer.

Update-
Yaesu came out with an SCU-58 cable which is "Windows-11 compatible". Got Wires-X working on a Windows-11 PC, not because of Yaesu documentation, but because of a helpful user group.

Your Wires-X mileage may vary, and I hope it works for you.
