A better manual is available Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Pretty happy with this little radio so far, but I haven't used it that much yet if I'm honest. It fits entirely out of sight in the center console of my sub-compact car without any mods to the car's interior.

Mostly I'm writing to say there is a much better manual available from the baofengtech.com website for the BTech GMRS-20v2 radio. That radio is a GMRS oriented product -- it comes with GMRS channels programmed in -- but the manual explains more features more fully in real English. Just download the manual and smile.

Cheers, KE6PPI

Overall a nice little radio Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought this radio because I didn't want a full size mobile in my new car. The WP-9900 fit the bill perfectly. The audio was surprisingly good from the HHCM and I have received excellent signal and audio reports. After learning the intricacies of using the radio I really liked it.
I would recommend buying the RT Systems software. Makes programming a snap especially if you have other radios using their software. If so, it's as simple as cut and paste.
My big issue is the radio has developed a nasty habit of turning itself off and on without notice. I've tried several power supplies and even pulled it out of the car for further testing before sending it back. Hopefully, the issue will be on my end not the radio.
Overall, a nice little radio.

Innovate little radio, excellent value for money Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
In terms of value for money and packaging (size, and therefore ease of installation in a car) and ease of use and set-up this little radio gets a full five stars. The build quality is also excellent it has a solid die-cast aluminium chassis.

Three things I'd mention.

1: Many reviewers have said you have to go through the menus to select the volume control, but this is not true. If you press the orange button on the mic it will defeat the squelch, but if you then press the up/down buttons you can alter the volume level. Press the orange button again to go back to normal operation.

2. The receiver (at least on 2m) is not the most sensitive you'll find, in particular it suffers somewhat with blocking, not really an issue for mobile operation with a small antenna, but could be an issue when connected to a larger antenna.

3. There's nothing really wrong with the Tx or Rx audio quality, but it's not as good as my IC-9700, so what I'm really saying is a rig costing 18x the price has better audio quality!

My use case is for a 2m receiver for the ATV calling frequency 144.750MHz for the GB3JV DATV repeater. I'll be adding a 2m BPF, so the blocking problem should go away. I also like the fact that all the control pins; including the PTT and Audio In and Out all appear on the 8-Pin Aviation connector. Ideal for my use case.

In summary for a mobile rig that's easy to install and at this price point I give it a full 5*.

Not bad for what I plan Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
First, you must get the USB driver and programming software. I had trouble with the Anysecu site, but I went to the QYTradio site and got the software for the KT-WP12 which is the same radio. You have to go into device manager and force the driver since Windows wants to use its driver. Once you get it set, programming is straightfoward typing in frequencies and tone info. I have some interference/intermod on one repeater frequency but it's local and affects a few other radios also. Overall a good choice for a go-box radio which is why I bought it, but not sure about a primary rig. It does work. It can be programmed via PC. It's a handy small package. It has limitations. Knowing all I know I would buy it again.

Good Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had the same problem with the PC not reading the radios memories. There is a USB driver that you need to download on the Anysecu website and that works fine

Poor at this point but MAY have possibilities Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased one of these due to its very compact size. My intent was to put one in my workshop and IF it proved satisfactory to put one in my wife's car and one in my daughter's truck (they are both hams) just to keep in touch if other comms were unavailable. I wanted to program just a few local repeaters and a couple of simplex frequencies as well as some public safety (receive only) frequencies.
On the plus side it is very compact and it does put out close to 25 watts as advertised.

On the minus side the connector for the mic/control head into the radio will not securely screw on. The threads were apparently not cut correctly. The real minus, however, is that the manual might as well not have been translated from Chinese into English. It is worthless when it comes to instructions on how to program from the keypad.

I downloaded the programming software from the Anysecu site and using the supplied programming cable it simply will not work. As with most programming software one must read from the radio before writing to the radio. It refuses to do so with the message "cannot read from the radio".

I have managed, with great effort, to program (from the keypad) one simplex frequency (146.520) and monitor that frequency when in my workshop. I have made some contacts out to about 30 miles using a mag mount dual band gain antenna (Larson 2/70)

If anyone has developed an easy to use checklist on how to program the radio from the keypad or knows of programming software that works please let me know. Until I can program 8-10 frequencies into the radio I am not buying any more of these in spite of the very low price.
