Poor Quality Control, poor manual, Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Purchased LDG-100A with a new FTDX10 from HRO for field day. Both arrived the next day (excellent job HRO). Needless to say got to work hooking up the system to give it a shake down before field day, then .........
#1 there are 7 cables included with this tuner so it can connect to many different radio's. (this is why I purchased it over others).
#2 none of these cables have any markings on them so you are on your own to figure out which one to use for any particular radio.
#3. For the FTDX10, looking at the radio and the tuner, it appeared only one of the 7 supplied cables would work as both units required a small DIN type connector.
#4 one end of the connector fit into the LDG tuner perfectly, however the other end would not fit into the "Tuner socket" of the FTDX10D?
#5 After calling HRO, who gave me a number to call LDG customer service, I called LDG who called me back in about an hour after I left a message. (that surprised me!)
#6 The tech told me the cable should connect to the "Linear" socket on the FTDX10??? I asked how I would know that. He apologized saying the production workers did not mark the cables and they were aware of it. As to why there is no directions in the shabby manual that comes in the box with the tuner? His response was...."We are a small family owned company and have not been able to get the manual re-written to cover that"
He did not offer to send me a new set of marked cables, nor a corrected manual saying he had no way of doing that.
I have no way of buying another LDG product in the future knowing that attitude towards their product and Qualiity Control. Hopefully the tuner will survive field day and then I think it will find a new home. This is like opening the hood of your car to add oil and finding 7 different locations it could be done...how do you proceed. 5 stars for the function of this tuner, 1 star for the company leaves an overall rating of 2 1/2....Heads up if you buy this tuner, be prepared to do some legwork to figure out how to connect it to anything. Works great if you can get it connected to the right sockets! unbelievable company attitude........

After calling HRO New Castle, De. store (spoke with Harry mgr.) and discussing what I found with the LDG tuner, he opened all five of them they had in the store on the shelf, and confirmed none had any cable marking of any kind. About an hour after speaking with Harry, I recieved a call from LDG telling me they were sending me a new set of cables that will be marked in separate bags. He said I could keep the ones that came with the tuner after I offered to send them back to them.
HRO (Harry) called them and convinced them to do this. Hats off to HRO (Harry in New Castle). I am not impressed with LDG over this, but am seriously fond of HRO. Buyer beware the manual does not give any instructions for any specific radio other than telling you to connect to the "tuner" port of the radio.....in the case of the FTDX10, this is not the case...call LDG before you hook it up!!!!!!!!!! throw the enclosed manual away!

Works well Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently purchased this tuner. It works well and keeps the frequency previously tuned in memory. The manual on the other hand is not so good.
I could not get it to tune with my FT-991A.
I came across someone doing a video for a different LDG tuner and the FT891. They showed by putting the menu in the radio for LAMP in the radio it will work. IT DID! Just push and hold the tune button on the tuner and voila! LDG please update the manual
