Great idea but poor implementation Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I owned all of the previous Wahl IsoTip battery powered irons from the 70's and they were great. I bought this 8000 two years ago now. I did not use it for a couple months and when I did it worked for part of one charge and quit. IsoTip had me return it to them at my own cost to be shipped as hazardous material (the battery) so they could rebuild the NEW iron. I got it back and used it a little and it quit after it ruined 3 brand new tips and burnt out 2 proprietary #222 BAYONET BASE bulbs. The sent me a replacement that I have been using. That replacement was used for about 4 hours total time in the last year but most was within the last month when it burnt out another brand new tip and new #222 bulb. They obviously have a lot more work to do on this product to make it usable. The old nicad versions were great but not this lithium one. It is a great idea but buyer beware! They still sell one of the older versions but no the fast charge (1 hour) one.
