Review Summary For : Optibeam OBDYA 9-4 9 Element Driven Yagi
Reviews: 1MSRP: $1689
Description:
OBDYA 9-4 A 9 element Driven Yagi Array covering 17 thru 10 Meters This antenna could be a “poster child” for a good looking antenna on the cover of any magazine – it really looks sharp up in the air. Good front to back, SWR is absolutely Flat across all 4 bands. Additionally, beamwidth seems to be very sharp...don't have to turn it much to see QRM fade away. Agreeing with the technical description of gain performance, it is comparable to a 3 element monobander. A substantial difference over the Tribanders it replaced. The REAL surprise was noise reduction ushered in by the shorting stub on the reflector...it is very quiet on RX ...15 thru 10 meters easily a 10 db improvement, where on 17 meters as much as 12-15 DB. ( My QTH is in a fairly high noise area ) Boom length is approximately 17 feet and fairly low weight ( around 60 lbs ) My only suggestion is the boom truss design could have been improved ( I built my own ) A truly unique electrical and mechanical design. Aside from the boom truss – A “10 “
