Outstanding Mag Loop! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
TL:DR version: Buy this loop! It works and the build quality and customer service are amazing. https://www.facebook.com/magloops

Now the longer version: Ran across the YouTube video for this wonderful loop by accident and decided to give it a try. Ordered one up by email, made the PayPal payment and in about 2 weeks had a loop on the door step!

Build Quality: Outstanding! High quality components, 3D printed plastic parts are first class. Electrical components high quality as well. I got the motorized version and there is plenty of wire lead to allow you to get the tuning box at your op position but still be a decent amount of distance away from the loop.

Customer Service: Excellent! Easy communication by email, accepts PayPal, answers any questions within a decent time. (I’m in the US, he is in the UK so allow for time zone issues.) Well packaged for international shipping, even marks on the box which end to open up!

In Operation: Amazing! First off, this is super easy to tune. Use the fast motor button to find the background noise peak, use the slow button to fine tune, hit the tuner button on your radio and you are good to go. Takes about 10min the first time to learn then tuning after that is just a breeze. Hint: If you have an IC-7300 you can use the SWR mapping feature to really fine tune the loop.

Max power is about 30 watts. I’ve been running 20 watts on FT8 and have had no problems.

Does it get out? Oh, Yes! I’ve have mine inside in a basement shack so about the worst environment you could have and I still regularly work out to 1,200 miles on 20 meter and above. Reception is also very good with nice nulls as the antenna is rotated.

Conclusion: Is it as good as my outdoor 20 meter dipole? Of course not, but it doesn’t claim to be. This is a great antenna for HOA situations, POTA (very small and portable), EmCom work and just plain fun! You can get on the air from just about anywhere with this gem of antenna!
