These guys are good. I emailed them two digital images and a mock-up of what I had in mind for a QSL card. They pointed out a difficulty with the resolution of one of the images, and suggested altering the relative sizes of the two and how they might be displayed on the card. They went on to provide a "second draft" design and emailed me a proof of what it would look like. I suggested a couple of small changes, and they sent a revised proof. I was delighted, and submitted my order.
Cards were in my hands two weeks later, and the quality is excellent. A truly professional job, all around. |

I sent an original digital image to QSLSHOP with directions of how I "see" my QSL card, their response with the first draft was in my inbox in 2 days, changes and two more drafts followed. The final draft was approved two weeks after I begun e-mailing QSLSHOP.
I had a chance to meet the QSLSHOP people while in Berlin for business, and have to say that Sam (A Canadian living in Germany) was very friendly and helpfull...
The result QSL is very nice, and will return to QSLSHOP again...

Hi,
I ordered 1000 QSL from this German company, affair to see if they could do a better work that the two other italian companies that printed my previous QSL. Bad idea I had ! Never more !
First their web site quote 1000 QSL $120. I wanted the change in euro. They answered me "1000 Karten sind 95 Euro. Wenn ich die Rückseite nachbauen muss, dann kommen etwa 5 Euro dazu". So for short it meant that they charged me 100 euros, no one cent more.
But some weeks later they told that I didn't send the money to teh right address (?) and asked me 20 euros more ! I never understood why I had to pay this additional "taxe"... But having paid by bank, added to charges, that cost me much more than 20 euros more. First bad news.
Then I sent them my layout and pictures. They quickly answered and send me in the next day a first draft, what they considered almost as their final print... I told them stop !
The colors were much too contrasted, far to respect the original 300 dpi picture, and the font side was really horrible. In fact the front image was far to reflect the layout that I sent them. I requested they change the fonts, add texture and some umbra and change the frame around the insert.
They sent me another draft. There was no texture added, the contrast was always as before, too strong. The sepcs for the insert were not respected neither. Hopefully the back side, grayscale, was respected, or almost.
I do not conceive how a printshop is unable to adjust the gamma (contrast) of an image or work only with a few fonts without any texture...
I gave up, and give them the go for printing with this additional recommendation to do their best to reduce the contrast on the front side, with the hope that they were at least able to make this change !
No way.
1.5 months after the order I received a small package with the QSLs. The contrast was about 20% too high, and gamma almost 33% too low. Worst, they use my 150 dpi layout without recreating the least logo (standard, like WAZ, JCC, etc).
Is my opinion objective ? I checked on DX-Zone, QSLShop is rated 8.33 and down. Other print shops, US and one italian - the one I used before, and continue - get better score, respectively 10 and 9 !
Back to Italy !

Short version: Wonderful quality cards and great customer service!
Needing another batch of cards, I decided to try one of the off-shore printers since so many of the exceptional DX-pedition cards I have in my collection came from one of three or four sources. I decided to try QSLSHOP this time and by and large I'm extremely pleased. My QSL is very rich in colour and they reproduced the image just wonderfully. I did a custom back and it turned out very well also, despite needing to be sent in 300 dpi JPG format (my PDF and EPS wouldn't open correctly on their system).
Total time from initial submission to delivery was about 5 weeks (including the Christmas holiday season), and the price was around $100 USD including shipping for 1000 cards. Customer service was exceptionally good and they sent me a few samples in a letter a few days before the order shipped.
I do have one strict caution to pass along, however: They are a MAC shop exclusively, and if you are designing your own card on the PC platform you may run into compatability issues, especially if you use TrueType fonts! If they do your design for you, or if you design it yourself on a Mac, you'll have no problem.
Incidentally, my first batch of cards I had done at STAR QSL service in the US, and while their price and service were good, the quality was not -- muted colours and cardstock that curled badly in two directions (two batches of cards were like that). These cards from QSLSHOP are frankly stunning and on much better cardstock.
I can unreservedly recommend QSLSHOP. You will not be disappointed with the results. |

I posted an earlier review here which I later requested Phil NA4M (Reviews Manager) to delete because it was based on incomplete and inaccurate information.
I had ordered 1000 cards but received less than 500 and many of those were in very poor shape. Within a week I began receiving individual cards "returned" to me for no postage or addressee. That confirmed for me that my original package had come open during shipment and some or all of 500 cards were now loose in the mail system (obviously with no stamp).
Sam at QSLSHOP wrote that this has happened before (they should beef up their packaging, knowing this), and he would reprint the entire order. I received the new shipment within two weeks and the cards are gorgeous (I already received a complement from a Sweepstakes contact).
Thank you to Sam Summers at QSLSHOP for remedying a shipping mishap and also to Phil NA4M of eHam.net for allowing me to correct my earlier (and regretable) review.

I work a bunch of 6m. As such, I trade a lot of cards. So, I have had looks at everybody's work, many times over.
I came to the conclusion that, of the hundreds of cards I have accrued, QSL Shop and a particular Italian printer did the best work. QSL Shop promised the quickest turn-around, so I went with them.
After stewing a few months over what I wanted, I finally came up with a concept, and send some art to Germany. In short order, I had proofs, and with a few more e-mails, had them customized the way I wanted them. I have read previous comments on past delivery issues, but I had no such problems. Cards arrived safely, and within the expected time frame. After dealing with other QSL suppliers who were much slower, this was refreshing.
The cards? Stunning. The card stock is very heavy, the heaviest I have seen. Printing is outstanding. The glossy finish on the cover is very professional. In short, no complaints.
The downside to QSL Shop? Price. They ain't cheap. Suppliers like Octavia are much more reasonable, but the delivery time was concerning. QSL Shop was 30 or 40% more than Octavia. But, I am happy with the result.
Great cards, but a budget buster...

I would rate QSLSHOP's cards as superb, artistic, imaginative, and far beyond the sterile computer generated and / or dime a dozen wham-bam printshop cards available today. Their selection of on-hand designs is very nice, and they offer flexibility in customizing their standard styles, in addition to developing individual custom cards. I am happy to have such an attractive card to send to my contacts, in yet another way to thank them for our QSO's.
My experience with QSLSHOP was off to a bad start, however. I called them in Germany asking if they had the IARC logo, and what their delivery schedule was after art was decided upon. I was told two weeks typically. I then sent them a sample of the club logo which I desired appended to the card, and the slight changes to the text side. In my covering letter, I explained very carefully that I was to be in the States fully two months later, and that the cards should be sent there to my USA address. A week later, I called them to verify their receipt of my letter, they had it and understood it, and that they would comply with my shipping destination and schedule. Two weeks before I was to leave the States, I called them to find out what had happened to my promised shipment, and they told me they were being shipped that very day by air. Fully ten days after I left the States, the cards arrived at my US address, and my son had to spend another $29.00 to send the 1000 cards to me.
Their cards are worth waiting for, but I would have liked to have known that they would be long in coming, thus the 4 instead of the 5 their cards merit.

| Great work and fantastic cards |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
I contacted the QSL shop after receiving some cards from other hams which I just loved. They were very patient with me in helping me get the exact card I want with all the logos I wanted as well, which was a little difficult for them, but they took the extra time.
I received the cards and they were beautiful! The best I have ever seen and the finest quality. The only problem was that we had been having a lot of rain in the U.S. and the cards on the top and the bottom of the box were soaking wet. Some were stuck together and some seemed milldewed.
I contacted the QSL shop and they immediately agreed to reprint the number of cards that were damaged. I have not had time to receive them yet, but I trust that they will do as they said as they seem very trustworthy and reliable.
If you want great cards and folks willing to help and please, these are the guys to deal with. I will be ordering all my cards from them and telling other hams about them as well. Thanks guys for all you help!
