My First Icom HT! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I took a chance in ordering the T10 which I did get on sale. The speaker sounds great, even when listening to Broadcast FM. The radio has a solid rugged feel and the build seems very tough. One negative I must mention is the Display. Its too small without "readers" on, even to view what power setting I am using or the battery icon. The scrolling method on setting the power output or switching from VFO to MR is irritating. You can use the two buttons below the PTT to scroll up/down in the "set" modes (initial too).

I do like having an old fashioned dial knob for the volume that clicks off (when powering off). This saves on battery drain. The Call Button is handy. I do suggest reviewing the basic and advanced manuals prior to operating and programming by hand. It may not have some enhanced bells and whistles, but it does the basics quite well. As of 6 weeks later (1/28/2023), it is doing quite well and the battery lasts long on a single charge on the 2,400 Mah Battery. Good Rig for new hams or experienced hams as well. I'm using in my CERT Go Bag!

Solid Radio - Missed Opportunity Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The T10 is a solid dual band HT. The great features are IP-67 waterproof rating, fine speaker, FM Broadcast, WX, Power switch/volume knob on top of radio, channel knob on top of radio. It will do what ICOM says it to do, and do it well.

The not so good: Only 200 memory channels, small LCD screen, no back-up battery pack (for AA Battery power).

The Most frustration feature is the lettering used by the rig for memory channel names. The letters are an eclectic mix of upper an lower case letters that are very challenging to understand. When I program the channels in all capital letters, you still get this mix of upper and lower case symbols - I guess of the best way to describe it. This part of the user interface is so poor, I cannot hand this radio to another operator and ask them to go to a memory channel by name. This attribute of the rig is just awful.

I expected a much better experience from a company like ICOM, especially for their price point. I believe ICOM missed an opportunity offer the go-to analog HT for years to come. Maybe they can fix a lot of this with revised programming. In any case, I put my T-10 into long-term emergency storage and will not be using it. There are too many other HTs that offer an excellent user interface screen component, good designs were figured out decades ago.

If you need a solid radio and don't care about the screen, this may be a good choice for you. If using the screen is critical to your use-case, you might want to consider something else.

Very nice,BUT LCD is smaller than previous versions!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
UPDATE-Really like the build quality and performance of the T-10, yet i still feel the previous model icom dualband T-70 is my favorite thus far!!

OCT 2022-Arrived a few days ago.
very nice build, the speaker has excellent audio and loud!
The overall fit in the hand is very comfortable, and battery performance is far above many other handhelds for capacity and run time.
The radio is easy to program, etc. In comparison,i also own 2 Ic-T70hd handies, and i feel the t-10 is very close in performance,BUT , not much of a upgrade to the t-70!
The T-10 has such a small screen that i find it hard to use in certain lighting conditions, and older eyes. Overall a nice unit that i will recommend!

Love it Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have an icom a16 air band radio that is built in the same chassis. Knew exactly what to expect from this radio. No Bluetooth like the a16, it is $100 cheaper than the a16 though. Buy it and an extra battery or battery eliminator if your anxious about no dc port. Pro level ham radio for sure!

No AA battery case accessory option. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Forgot to mention, Wouxun has a new model, the KGUV8H which also has an AA pack option and is much lower in price like the FT60R I bought. IC T-10 is a bit steep in price.

Overall, a pretty good radio. I made the mistake of buying before checking the accessories available. There is currently no AA battery tray / pack for it. In a real emergency, you are better off having an AA option, as time / places available to charge the factory battery may not always be convenient or available. You carry a pouch full of AA batteries, and wham bam slam a new set in and you're good to go. I learned this from an Em-comm operator in tornado alley. Also, this radio, if it truly is so heavy duty, may outlive the availability of factory accessories, and if your factory battery goes bad and they become unobtanium, an AA pack would allow you to keep using it for years more. I exchanged mine for a Yaesu FT60R which has an AA battery case option.

A new favorite. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I'm a self described nut for handhelds for Ham use. I buy pretty much every handheld Icom, Yaesu or Kenwood releases just so I can speak intelligently about the current offerings. Lately, I've been playing with using Icom Commercial handhelds, this unit is a little of both.
I've seen reviews that mention the T10's lack of features "for the price", I think what they're not understanding is that the IC-T10 is the Ham version of the IC-F1000T (2000T for UHF). I think even the case is interchangeable, and you know it the moment you pick it up. The price is very good if you consider it's considerably less than it's commercial twin, yet is dual band, comes with a charging cradle and offers free programming software.
I now own about 20 handhelds, mostly Icom - If I had to pick ONE for a mission that required battery life and stone-simple ease of use, the T-10 would be my pick.

Solid radio Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought this radio as a "travel" radio. I wanted something that was easy to program from the front panel. The CCR's that have become so common are really not great at that and it can be a headache on a road trip. This Icom really reminds me of the radios that were produced back in the 1990's. Easy to program the VFO in seconds! If you do buy the cable and download the programming software it makes it even easier. The receiver is really pretty tight on this radio. I'm in the Los Angeles area and I haven't experienced any problems with intermodulation at all. The menu system is really simple. Just give the manual a quick read and within a day you're an expert. The radio has a really neat feature that allows it to automatically adjust the transmit power. If you are receiving a repeater or simplex signal very strong the radio will automatically step the power down. Nice feature that saves a lot of battery. The battery life has been really good as well, so a full charge should get you through the day. About the only gripe I can think of is I wish the screen was touch larger, but that's an old guy eye problem, not really the radios. This radio is based off of Icom's commercial radio the IC-F1000 and it feels like it. It's build quality and feel in the hand is consistent with their commercial products. It's not the cheapest HT on the market, but you get what you pay for. So now with this HT and Repeaterbook on my phone, I'm ready to hit the road!

Superb HT Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
- Rugged, Waterproof
- Long lasting battery life
- Loud speaker
- Nice in the hand
- Direct-conversion receiver is clean, I don't know if that's what Icom is claiming about eliminating IF stages.

I've paired it with HM-168LWP, very good for emergency & rescue.
