Review Summary For : RFinder P10 Rugged 10? Tablet 4G VHF/UHF with embedded SDR
Reviews: 1MSRP: $1899
Description:
The RFinder P10 is a Dual Band (VHF/UHF) DMR Transceiver combined with an embedded powerful smartphone. It delivers up to 4 Watts of RF Power out of a very robust case. The P10 is fully capable of DMRoIP, which means that even without a DMR repeater, you can still connect to the DMR network using the cellphone network. Additionally, DMRoIP NetRoam (a specialized feature that allows your device to roam from network to network while using DMRoIP) is included. Compatible with most worldwide cellphone providers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-mobile, Google FI, etc. It is also FCC approved for Public Safety VHF/UHF frequencies. The RFinder has an updated database of worldwide repeaters, EchoLink nodes and DMR talk groups, you never have to memorize anything. You just search the station or repeater you want to connect, and the RFinder will change all the settings for you, either using DMR or conventional analogue FM. The RFinder is so advanced that will allow you to see on a map all the available DMR/EchoLink/Conventional repeaters nearby. Just click on your selected station, and your radio settings are changed: RX and TX frequency, Tones, offsets, splits, color codes.

Excellent rugged transceiver and tablet Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The time came for me to replace my aged tablet. I was looking for a rugged one, to take portable (POTA etc.), plus I wanted it to work with all my 'wires & SDR' receiver - to monitor a series of channels whilst away from the shack. I was already a very happy 'B1+' user, so became very interested in the P10 tablet when it was released. It ticked all the boxes and looked just the thing. On unboxing the unit, and topping-up the charge, I was quickly able to access the RFinder software, plus the SDR receiver. (Use the on-line manual to help you get started). Running Android 9, which is more than adequate for me, it means all my favourite programs are also on-hand for me to use. I also use Echolink and Zello without any problems. This device is really the 'Swiss Army knife' of the Ham Radio World and, being a tablet, you also use the map when reviewing local repeaters, not just the list. This is a revolutionary product and, for me, is a must carry. I have just driven up to Staffordshire (UK) from home ...... and it came with me: giving me the chance to monitor local frequencies, find local repeaters without hassle, and keep the emails flowing. It is also a mobile phone, although I choose to use it with a Data SIM only .... which suits me. I don't regret the purchase. Amazing.
