Review Summary For : Heathkit GC-1094 Budget Electronic Alarm Clock
Reviews: 1MSRP: $55
Description:
The Heathkit GC-1094 Budget Electronic Alarm Clock is a digital display clock from the 1970s that could be wired for either a 12 hour or 24 hour display. This also made it an ideal clock for use in the ham shack. It includes an alarm capability as well. Time is set by using slide switches located on the bottom of the case. Its accuracy is determined by the 120 volt 60 Hz AC provided by your electric utility company.

Continuous operation since 1975 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I built my Heathkit GC-1094 back in 1974 and it has been running continuously since then. Talk about reliability! During assembly the builder is offered the choice of wiring it for either a 12 hour or 24 hour display format. It only involves the addition of a point-to-point wire which makes it very simple to change at any time later on. For 40+ years I used it as my shack clock, but a few years ago I changed it to the 12 hour format and now use it in our family room. The accuracy is quite good, when started by listening to WWV or using the time from a cell phone, it usually stays within +/- a couple seconds. Not bad for a 48 year old clock built from a kit.
