Fun kit for the intermediate builder Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a single band/single frequency FT8 only kit for 7 MHz. Team it up with a laptop and you can be making FT8 contacts over thousands of kilometres.

The kit comes with all parts including case and connecting cable. Took me a (long) day to build. I suggest the build and test construction method to make it easier to find any errors (I made a couple but they were easy to fix).

The parts were good quality though you will need a fine tipped soldering iron as the solder pads were quite small. No solder is supplied. You will need a multimeter to measure resistors.

The instructions were OK but do assume some basic kit building knowledge. All parts are through-hole. You will be winding toroids. Hence I suggest this as an intermediate level project.

The unit works as advertised and puts out its rated tx output power. A video describing construction is below:
