Works Okay Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is a review of the KT31WARC rotatable dipole. I have owned the antenna for 18 months and it was mounted at 82' in the air. When I first received the antenna it was missing a part which M2 quickly replaced. The antenna went together easily for me having built several KT34-type antennas in the past. The spacers were better than the ones I had used before, but that was about the only thing better. When put together the antenna felt flimsy given the cost and that was before the most recent price increase. I was able to tune the antenna and get the SWR good on 30M and okay on 17M but no matter how I adjusted it the SWR never got below 2:1 on 12M. The performance of the antenna like the SWR was good on 30M, okay on 17M, and passable on 12M. I wasn't expecting beam-like performance but being up in the air as high as it was I expected it to be a bit better. The antenna failed in a recent storm where the nearby airport reported a gust of 80mph. The element broke off the mount and fell on top of a lower antenna where it stayed until I lowered the tower and removed it.
