Reviews: 1MSRP: $1,709.00 USD
Description:
4314C Portable Wattmeter Ssme Elements as Model 43 Accurate CW and Peak Envelope (PEP) field power measurement over the range 450 kHz to 2.7 GHz and 100 mW to 10 KW (elements not included). Pulse measurements down to 0.4 us (see full specs) Uses industry standard Bird 43 elements. Rugged metal housing for the most demanding environments. Quick Change (QC) connectors to minimize the need for adaptors when making critical measurements (Type N(F) Standard) The Bird 4314C Wattmeter is similar to the Bird Model 43 Thruline Wattmeter but also contains electronic circuitry to accurately measure peak envelope power which is present in amplitude modulated signals such as AM broadcast, single sideband and TV video transmitters. The circuitry operates from 2 standard 9V alkaline batteries or an optional A.C. adaptor. Product Specifications: Accuracy: ±5% of full scale CW, ±8 PEP Battery: Two 9-Volt alkaline transistor batteries Connector: QC Type (Female N normally supplied) Finish: Light gray powder coat Frequency Range: 450 kHz to 2.7 GHz (depending on elements) Insertion VSWR: with N connectors 1.05 max. to 1000 MHz Nominal Size: 6 7/8" H x 5 1/8" W x 3 5/8" D (175 x 130 x 92 mm) Power Range: 100 mW to 10 kW using Bird Plug-In Elements Pulse Parameters: (min.) Pulse width 0.4µs (100-2300 MHz), 1.5µs (26-99 MHz) and 15µs (2-25 MHz); repetition rate 30 pps and duty factor 1 x 10^4min. Weight: 3 lbs. (1.4 kg)

The Best Second to none RF Meter Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned this great Power Meter for at least 3 years or more and I am glad that it was a Bird. I've owned also an old Drake W-4 meter with a power peak kit and that W-4 is in par with my Bird 4314-B model, the Birds swings the needle a little faster than the Drake W-4 when both meters are in-line together. I really like the analogs meters and some digital meters like my old Radio Shack, that too is a great meter if you find one in good shape. My 4314-B can also do Average and Peak readings with the flip of a switch. This 4314-B meter is NOT a PEAK KIT mods, this is a TRUE Peak module electronics that is built in the meter,it runs on 2ea. 9 volts batteries inside the meter or an external power supply of 18 volts if it is in your base station test equipment's. This tool is a must if you do a lot of reading power in your radio shack or use it for off site trouble shooting and tuning other radio equipment's.I have used other Bird meters with the average models and this is on par to the specs. that other Birds meter with there quality built equipment's. If you want a True meter for power in average and Peak readings, this is the one for you,it is not cheap so be aware of it's cost,it is worth every penny you paid for and than some. This is a keeper in my shack.........
