| DOES ALL THAT I NEED |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
I started out using the DOS version about 10 years ago. I upgraded to WinEQF immediately upon it's release.
Like LU1AS, it does everything I need, and does it very well.
Very user friendly and affordable.
I would recommend it to anyone.

| Great Software |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
I am have requested a previous review be deleted because it was a review rating I don't want to hold against Win-EQF software. I have obtained a new copy of Win-EQF and happily using it again. The Win-EQF service works - and if your HDD crashes or the CD dies these guys will have you back up and running.
This is really great software. I have tried other logbooks for windows but this is the one I keep coming back to. |

| Outstanding!!! |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
I have used this logger for many years. Originally, I used a shareware version of Log-EQF back in the DOS days. I grew so attached to it that I bought the Windows version, and it continues to do everything I need. I use it to print labels. I use it to log contests. I use it to track WAS & DXCC.
I just got a new computer running Vista. I put it off as long as possible, because I hate to change. When I went to install WinEQF, my CD was garbaged. No problem!!! I emailed Tom, N3EQF, who put me in touch with someone on his staff who enabled me to download a new registered copy that I burned to a CD.
But still more computer problems... The new PC has no RS-232 port for my interface. Tom and I emailed back and forth for more than a week. He tried suggestion after suggestion, and never tired of looking through my configuration info. He never gave up! Even though it soon became apparent that the problem was not software related, he continued to stick with me, offering support and suggestions. Finally, I did arrive at a workable hardware arrangement and I am up and running again.
Tom certainly receives my greatest thanks and praise. Not only is this a great logging program, but the support is OUTSTANDING! |

| user FRIENDLY !!! |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
I really like the program. The more I use it, the more I like it.
I like its user friendliness and the options of using the keyboard to move around the program. I especially like the F2 start QSO option and the F4 clear the screen option.
When you are listening to a station that you may want to start a QSO with, just type in his callsign and hit F2 and it displays his name, QTH, bearing and distance, and other info without actually saving it yet. If you begin an actual QSO a couple of minutes later, just hit F2 and it updates the time to the new start time of the QSO. To save the QSO info just hit F1. If you have typed in a callsign and then decide not work that station, just hit F4 and it clears the screen ready for the next station. You can use your mouse to perform those same functions, but I prefer the keyboard.
It also has a link for each QSO with notepad that allows you to save other comments about the QSO. I like to save info on pwr and antennas, rigs, age and other interesting personal info exchanged during the QSO.
I had been using another program for the past 5 years and although it did many things, there were things about it that I did not like. Previously, I had also downloaded and installed the trial versions of several different logging programs. Some of them tried to do too much, and made you jump to too many hoops to get where you wanted to be.
Win-EQF is the easiest to use and does the things you need most in a logging program. Thanks to TOM (N3EQF) and all the people responsible for offering this great product.
You can download a free shareware version to give it a try. I did, and after running it thru the wringer for a couple of days, I bought the registered version.

| A Great Logger! |
Time Owned: 6 to 12 months. |
I have tried most of them and the more I try, the more I like Win-EQF. It doesn't have the flashiest "face", but when it comes to flexibility and overall ease of use, Win-EQF is really hard to beat. It does everything that I want and I don't have to spend lots of time figuring out how to use all the features that it contains. Labels are easy(both QSL and Address), award tracking is fantastic, reports are easy and complete, TelNet (with or without DXTelnet) is a breeze, etc, etc. I could go on, but let me just say, "try it, you'll love it!". Oh and if you have multiple rigs to interface with....Tom covers them all and let's you easily switch between any 2. I used VQLog for awhile, but it has limited Rig interface capabilities and the writer doesn't seem too interested in expanding the list, especially to TenTec....a big problem(for me).
Give Win-EQF a try...Tom is a great guy and this software just keeps getting better, even though it is great already! |

| 5x5, the best |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
I have had this program going back to the DOS days. It's the best, easy to use, great support from Tom and does everything that's needs to be done.
This has been a staple for many years for quick and easy logging. l have tried many others including
DX Base. While DX Base may have more bells and whistles this is much more user friendly and the support is far more friendly. Still one of the very best.!! And oh by the way, great price and continous updates. |

| Use a Paper Log |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
One step above paper log is how I would rate this program.
Pros:
Produces .adi file for uploading for contests or TQSL Cert for LoTW.
Consistently prints great QSL labels.
Integrates with Go-List for QSL Manager information.
Integrates with QRZ to provide address information on screen and for labels.
Cons:
This program touts that it supports many contests. It does, partially. However, it will only support one multiplier per contest. So, if you need to track states and countries you can only track one or the other (states or countries). In every contest I have used this program in, I am always figuring out the points and multipliers because the program does it wrong.
In the last contest I participated in all contacts were logged at the same time and date. Operator error, yes, but I have no resolution as to why this happened, and because of this I can never trust this program 100% again.
The search function is just terrible! It takes too many keystrokes to search for a callsign just to log receipt of a QSL card.
The screens are antiquated. This program works in Windows, but it is apparent that it is a throwback to DOS days.
The 10-10 number tracking functionality does not work at all. Every time I log a 10-10 number the program freezes completely.
I asked for technical support for a contest I was going to participate in. I did not receive a response in a timely manner on the EQF website.
The program consistently chooses the "oldest" QSL manager for a particular callsign instead of the most recent (using Go-List).
I cannot search for all callsigns for a particular date range. I have to know the specific date and time of a QSO - useless!
Formatting for a Cabrillo file does not always work correctly. Characters are dropped.
It logs KM6Z as Midway Island and I cannot change this.
In short, I cannot agree with everyone else that this is a great program. My experience has been much different. |

| My journal |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
| I've been using Log-EQF since September of 1992 and upgraded to Win-EQF a few years ago. I've played around with other logging programs; but always come back to Win-EQF. Okay, the screen might not look as "Excel"-like as other based Windows loggers; but looks are secondary. I'm comfortable with Win-EQF and know the ins and outs pretty well; and it will run on anything, from my main computer with Windows XP all the way down to an old rickety laptop running Windows 95. The most important feature for me however is the notepad feature that Tom has kept in the program since Day One. In addition, to being my log, my log is also my Ham Radio journal. I like to make lots of notes about the QSOs I make and milestones and events that occur in my Ham Radio career. Tom gives enough space in the notepad where I can write whatever I want to. It's a blast going back and browsing through QSOs from years ago and reading comments I had made. It jars a lot of memories and makes a lot of those QSOs seem like they occurred yesterday! |
