It couldn't be easier. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I love it! Worth every penny spent. I bought the whole download package and customized it to look awesome on the screen. (Black backgroung with medium blue font) Type in the call sign and everything, but band, mode, power and frequency are filled in automatically (with optional package). It couldn't be easier. Try it free for 45 days and you'll want the whole deal.

SUPER! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have both the AC log and the ARRL Sweeps programs. I use the AC log program for US Islands. Both work great, easy to learn, & has all of the features. I am not a computer nerd, so the word "Complicated" just is not in my vocabulary, so I went with the AC log, and I am very happy with it. For the Money, ease of useage, and customer service-THE BEST. Buy It!

Great Logging Program! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been using N3FJP AC Log for about 5 years now, and it has been the easiest, most comprehensive logging program out there. It is very simple, yet gives you all the features of some of the higher priced and more complex logging programs. Its the one I've used since getting active in the hobby again. I really like the features of FJP's logging program.

Could be better Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I've used a freeware program for years, XMlog, and served me fine. I liked the way AC looked, and bought it. Loaded 50k QSO's in it, works just fine. Here are my pro/con list

PRO's
-GREAT LOTW upload and DOWNLOAD, to keep your DXCC totals correct.
-Easy to use
-Great support
CON's
-DXCC total reports almost useless. Just shows the country, would be nicer to have the prefix, and the call you worked. XM and another freeware -DXKeeper do this nicely.
-Printing of labels way too complicated, again the freeware XM log out classes this.

In all, a good program, but, you can do better. For now, I am running 2 loggers. I import the contest QSO's into AC, upload to LOTW, and keep LOTW totals on AC. Then, move the info to DX Keeper for ease of tracking.

Easy to use and customize Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently tried a logging program that was reviewed in QST and found it to be very comprehensive but very poor on ergonomics, bad field order, no doc, too complicated, and no way to customize. Took me forever to enter old contacts and very error prone.

I then looked at another program I had heard of and had the same feeling about it, way too complicated.

As a professional software developer, my two biggest pet peeves are software that can't be customized and software that is too complicated to use.

So I went looking for something simpler and easier to use and found n3fjp ACL's many high marks on eham. So I downloaded and within 2 hours had it customized and working exactly the way I wanted it.

I used the customizable Other fields to track rig, antenna, tuner settings and amp settings. I was able to give these fields an appropriate on-screen heading and was able to easily drag them into the on-screen position I wanted for contact entry. I was also able to customize the spreadsheet style display of previous contacts. I wanted to roughly match the field order of my many old arrl logbooks. This makes it a lot easier to attempt to enter 40 years of contacts.

So in short order I have entered about 4 of 30 years worth of qsos.

And at this price, even though software developemnt is fun for me, there is no way it would make sense to try to reinvent the wheel and develop yet another logging program.

Great job Scott and Kimberly.

Awesome logging program! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I'll make it short and sweet, because I'm going to write the same everyone has any way.

Have been useing N3FJP for 5 years now, and no bugs. Various contests, special events, and casual logging has always been good on the eyes, easy to use, never a problem.

I've tried other's, and so far this one's the best.

Recommend highly!

Too easy Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Maybe it's just me, but the other software I tried was just way too complicated with too many features. This software takes about 5 minutes to learn. Just enter the call and there's all the info you need. I used the QRZ internet look up option and it's flawless.
Log em and send a qsl card.

The only thing missing is a map screen to show where your contact are at a glance.

I'm sure after Scott reads this review he will add one and then it will be perfect. Just some positive and wishful thinking!

Price of couple of entrees Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I'm cheap. I tried several of the "free" logging programs and decided I could do better with my own self-designed Excel spreadsheet if I ever had the time to do it. Then I tried ACLog, using their free trial period. It more than met my needs. What a sneaky way to get somebody hooked!

Note that I don't use any of the rig control or interface functions but the DX cluster screen is wonderful and worked the first time, and the ability to set up the look and feel to suit your operating style is great. It works just fine with the new Vista operating system, too.

I would like the packet cluster read-out to show more entries at a time so I don't have to scroll so much, but other than that, I don't really have any update suggestions.

For less than the price of a couple of entrees at O'Charley's you can have a great logging program. And as noted by others, I know of no other supplier who works as hard to keep in touch with and respond to his customers/users. Heck, he even maintains TWO yahoo user groups--one for announcements and updates and another for user input and suggestions...just so you can keep up with what's new without having to read all the give and take if you so desire.

Great job!

Great Software Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Great software, great people. I purchased this software, I think in early 2006. Then I switched to Ham Radio Deluxe and started using the embedded HRD logbook. I have just recently switched radios(new, used Orion I) and I brought out the old AC log. With a little help from the folks at AC Log I was able to export the old HRD stuff and up date the logbook. Then when it started acting funny like something had gotten corrupted, they gave me my password which allowed me to reinstall the program. Everything works fine now. Great folks to work with and I say yes, buy it today.

Excellent integration Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been using Scott's logging software for years. I'm always finding new features that I hadn't used before. With this software, when a DX station comes up on frequency I simply click on the spot and my FT920 is there. I also like the ability to send an eQSL out when I log the contact, a nice touch.
Keep up the good work Scott.
