A must have for DX Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have been looking, comparing all type of antenna for weeks and months, Yagi, quad, log periodic ect and I came to the conclusion that the performance of the 2BS5 from Bis Signal company was the best option with my situation and my criteria : price / weight / length of the boom and I was looking for a pure DX performing antenna, light. Also I am happy the single feed line, it’s something “purist” will say 5 separated feed lines are better, maybe but in my case the performance are just terrific.
The antenna is on a 12.5m fix mast with an electric sliding rotor cage, the antenna is in lower position in 5 minutes.
This antenna is easy to mount, I have prepare all the pre-assembly alone in 1 evening and installing the 2 elements was a 15minuites job with a the farm tractor and front hydraulic lift.
See my QRZ page for photos
Everything is nicely marked and no error is possible.
SWR is 1.3 on 14Mhz, 1.2 on 18Mhz, 1.1 on 21Mhz, 1.7 on 24Mhz and 1.1 on 28.5 mhz
All is perfect except 24Mhz but the constructor inform me in advance of this.
The side rejection is perfect it’s -5 -6 S points
The font to back is ok but it’s a 2 elements don’t expect huge FB rejection.
In terms of performance it’s an amazing antenna, I have been able to work from 4 Aug 2023 till 01 Oct 2023 146 new DXCC.
Until now I am more than happy with the antenna it’s just amazing.
I can contact 99+% of any DX I can listen, lot of QRP station are calling me, the reception is quiet and I have been able to break all pile-up with 600W maximum whenever needed.
The company Owner Juan Pedro is fast and always reply in case of questions.
