Nice construction Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Not wanting to retune my 6 el beam for FM use for a local repeater this seemed the logical choice. Unfortunately the lady on the phone taking the order could barely get the order taken and didn't understand and didn't want to understand the phoentic alphabet; I found this odd for an amateur business. I was so frustrated at trying to get the order correct and placed I forgot to tell her to make it tuned to 53Mhz. Set up was quick and easy in less than 15 minutes it was on the tower leg at 20' where I could work on it standing on the roof. After trying the tuning procedures in the documentation I gave up and emailed Norm. He confirmed that I would have to cut it to get that far up the band. Using a plumbers tubing cutter, reamer tool I proceeded to tune it. Once at what was the approximate place I had to redrill the insulator holes and reconnected the insulator. All stainless hardware makes this appear to be a very rugged antenna. Indeed it is rated for mobile use.

I highly recommend it as a very compact solution for a base / mobile antenna.

Impressive Quality Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I first read about this antenna here on eHam, called Norm on Monday, had a great phone chat, ordered the antenna and it arrived on Friday (Norm is in Nevada and I am in Virginia) and was up 15' in the air on Saturday. First QSO was with a station about 200 miles away.
Assembly was incredibly simple and the antenna is as solid as a rock. Thanks for Norm for super service and an absolutely great antenna.

6M WAS in a Year Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Some times you just 'can't put up a beam'.

After a bunch of years of inactivity, I bought an IC706 and wanted to get back on 6M, but couldn't put up a tower and beam. After researching horizontal omni antennas, I chose the KB6KQ loop and put it on the roof at about 30'.

This antenna has been amazing. In just over a year, I've completed WAS on 6, plus working a number of South and Central American countries, running no more than 100 Watts.

Thanks Norm, for a great antenna,

Well Made-Works Well Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought my KB6KQ 6 meter loop after having had two of the two meter version perform so well for the past two years. I would recommend either the 6 or 2 meter version. Well made, works well. I only wish that they would also made mobile mounts for the 6 meter version.

Excellent performer Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I installed the antenna on the top mast of my 55 foot Rohn tower in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and it out performs the 3E 6M beam by Cushcraft, which is mounted directly below it. I have had a problem trying to get over some of the higher mountain tops that surround me with the 3 ele 6m beam, and it appears, after making on the air comparisons, that the 6m loop DOES MUCH BETTER ( 2 to 3 "S" units). From the beginning, it received better, then I switched between the 2 antenas, and the distant stations (FLorida) said the loop did much better. I am very, very satisfied with the $100 investment!!

Simply fantastic Time Owned: more than 12 months.
KB6KQ's loops were not well known to me when I went looking for a 6 meter solution. What I needed was a way to supplement a long boom yagi for close in contacts during VHF contests. After doing my homework, I decided to buy two of the KB6KQ loops and stack them on a single mast.

The antennas came very well packed, were easy to assemble with all the required parts, and they were SPOT ON frequency - 1.0:1 SWR - and mount quite nicely to the mast. I also purchased the phasing harness, so installation was a snap.

I put the mast up on my chimney to test the antennas. They have never come down. They work really well! And forget that close in stuff... I have worked into Europe, South America, and all over the U.S. with my FT847 using this configuration.

Norman builds these antennas and tests them - every one of them - before shipping. You are guaranteed a quality product! Well done, and highly recommended!
