Ideal tropo amp on 70cms			Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I took the 300w 70cms Gemini amp in last year as part of an exchange deal. I fancied trying more than the 10w my ic705 could run on a bench supply. As with the other 2m 4/6m and hf/6 Geminis I have/do own, this one performed reliably and quietly at the 260w level on ssb cw and 200w on ft 8. I was able to work European countries on ssb and cw during a few big trips openings at the end of 2024. I am having a break from 70cms now until the cycle bottom, so I recently sold it on easily for a decent price. I plan to order it's 1kw bigger brother when I decide the time is right to play on 70cms eme, where the bigger heat sink amp will run our 400w limit easily. Highly recommended for ssb/cw tropo work. It's bigger 1kw brother has been designed for high power data modes if that's your thing.

I bought this amp back in March 2023 new in box from another amateur who changed plans. Out of the box had SWR issue, found out the SWR pot needed to be adjusted. E-mailed Roger at the DX-shop, who I bought my Gemini 23 1296 amp from in 2017. Roger responded quickly and sent pictures. The amp sat for nine months until I focused on adjusting.. I needed a large magnifying glass, and a mini eye glass flat head to get to that pot and adjust. I was able to get amp working.. 12-14 watts in about 250 out. All reports excellent. thank you Roger.
