Reviews: 16MSRP: 299 / 399
Description:
The HD 580 and HD 600 are audiophile quality open dynamic hi-fi / professional stereo headphones. The advanced diaphragm design eliminates standing waves in the diaphragm material. 12 to 38,000 hz FLATLINE response provides natural, accurate, and exceptionally spatial sound. Can be connected directly to to hi/fi systems of the highest quality, in particular, dat, dcc, and cd players. An ideal choice for the recording engineer recording classical music.

Excellant Frequency Response Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
These headphones have to be best I have ever had the pleasure of listining to. Sennheiser has gone the exta mile in both quality and technology in producing the most perfect set of cans. The audio quality is purely transparent, fully frequency responsive, with crystal clear highs, smooth mids, and tight crisp lows. There is no muddyness whatsoever in the low end. The comfort of these cans are unequaled. My previous cans were Sennheiser HD212Pro which were slightly on the bassy side. There is no comparison as to how much better the HD600 are compared to any other headphones I have used.

Expensive but worth it Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I received the HD600 as a Valentine's Day present.
These phones are quite expensive, but indeed
set the standard for comfort. I can wear these
all day long with no problem. They are quite
sensitive; I use them regularly with my Elecraft
K2. They also work quite nicely when connected
to a stereo system. The bass is neither muddy
nor "funky" sounding, and the imaging is impressive.
For me, comfort was the main issue,
and the HD600 does not disappoint.

HD 600 - Quality Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought these headphones after reading the reviews not only on Eham.net but also those written by the hifi magazines. These headphones are audiophile quality in build and performance. Small points such as braille markings for the left ear, dual plug types and 3 metre leads as standard.

Never thought I would sell my Heil headset until these came my way.

They are so comfortable over long periods that you actually forget your wearing them.

Nice to see I'm not the only ham who's discovered these gems. For radio work or audiophile hifi use, these headphones are simply incredible. Extremely comfortable over long hours of use, very smooth sounding, extended frequency response - a joy to listen with. Utterly transparent, fatigue-free listening pleasure for hours. A steal at the prices you can find them at now online.

Perfect ! Put your Sony away. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Flatline response (no undesired emphasis on vocals). No distortion. No coloration. No listener fatigue. Not overkill for Ham Radio. A lifetime investment. 580's not available in all areas, opt for more expensive 600's. Extremely well suited for the Wireless and Hi/Fi room.
