Great Product Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Replaced an Ameritron 811HX with the PW-1. Exciter is the IC-756 Pro 3. Easy to set up and a joy to operate. The internal antenna tuner is flawless on all bands. Getting a solid kw with 50 watts of drive. Bottom line, a great addition to the shack.

absolute dream machine Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Integrated very well with IC-7700 and IC-7600. Has all the bells and whistles required for solid operation. Duty cycle on RTTY is rather impressive Remote head is a slick option.

Icom PW-1 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have had the PW-1 for about a month and my initial impression is that this is an outstanding product. The only issue I had was the installation, the manual was ok but I couldn't get it to work properly. I called ICOM and tech support was great, they suggested I go to their website and look at the interactive PDF they have. That did the trick I had the Amp. up and running in 10 minutes. They should put those installation instructions in the manual.I'm making more contacts than I ever have and I'm using an Inverted V 30 feet off the ground the tuner does a great job.I don't have to worry about the Amp it does everything. Absolutely an outstanding product.

BEST AMP I EVER USED Time Owned: more than 12 months.
After many bad experiences with THP & the agonizingly slow QSY's with tubes, I went back to the finest linear on planet fer use with ICOM radios (I now have the MAGNIFICENT IC-7700 !! ) .

Icom support is fantastic, & they have been nothing but great with me since 1981!!

The ALC is a dream and once set, going from 200 to 1200 watts, is as simple as pushing the AMP button. ( Yes, I said 1200 watts ! )

The Tuner works great on all bands. However, tune with 30 watts RTTY as per the recommendations of ICOM tech support. If U want to have Tuner settings saved, they must be done, holding the Tune buttom down until it no longer blinks, and know that the antenna tuning will change with rain, snow and ice, so that you might have to retune in bad WX.

Two inputs, auto QSY and auto Ant selection are a pleasure to use and
save making mistakes.

The two IC-PW1, I've have had since 2000 have never failed, and I never
should have sold the first one. (Shame on me !)

Since I disconnect my antennas during a lighting storm I've never blown the
IC-PW1. (Don't tube linears blow when hit by lighting ??)

killed by lightening Time Owned: more than 12 months.
bought 2nd hand about 6 years ago, works ok before lightening came merrily along the power line, killed its internal power supply, $2900 for new power supply from icom and they will NOT supply a schematic. junked it. back to tubes.. all in all, when it worked, it worked fine, but take care setting it up.. not to happy tuning 50mhz, but it did.. again, I will not replace it in kind, probably go the sb220 route, amplifiers are great for the ego, but except for VHF,not really necessary.. Greatest Time Owned: more than 12 months.
After two years of daly use, not a thing wrong with it. Originally used with a 746 Pro, actually used with a 756 Prolll. During that time 110 IOTAs worked. Competing with full legal power, never needed to call more than 3 times to be answered. All this time, the only button touched is the on/off switch.Great?, TREMENDOUS!!!!

Great amp. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned my IC-PW1EURO since January 2007, I am all ower satisfied with my great Amplifier!!, it is in a dayly work and so far without any trouble.
The reason for I choose the IC-PW1 is previously reviews, and suggest from other amateur`s regarding the quality and performance of IC-PW1, the another point is all the protection functions for avoid amplifier havary, and it also communicate with ICOM radios, same as you have a 1K radio.
I will suggest to install the IC-PW1 away from the radio due to the fan sound, my amp. is installed below the table on a stand for it.
I will suggest the IC-PW1/EURO for the Ham`s as consider to buy a amplifier, you will love it!!.

GREAT AMP Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
All I can say is this power supply, tuner, and amp together work "GREAT". I mean I bought mine used and know problems at all. This PW-1 is GREAT, what can you ask for all three in one. This is more then just an amp. 1. Tuner 2. Power Supply 3. AMP.... What else can you ask for in this hobby beside's GREATNESS. :0) Mark W2YM

No Problems. Nice Amp! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have been using mine paired with an IC-7800 for nearly a year with no problems. Mine is separated from my operating position and I hardly notice the cooling fan. It has been a pleasure to use. I have absolutely no regrets with this purchase!

A Cadillac!!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Most have been told about this amplifier. I sold my tube ampl. because I was tired of tuning and bandchange all the time. With the PW1 you simply tune the ALC and the tuner/antenna once and you can easily run the tranceiver and don’t bother any more about the amplifier. Very nice and solid equipment.
There is a miss in the manual (page 11, note 8). I was afraid of damaging the ampl. and call Icom in USA. 15 min. later Icom call me back and told me there are no grounding wire as described in the manual. Good service!
I can live with the noise from the blower rather when protection cutoff as with my previous solid state ampl. The insufficient manual is not a big deal for anyone with a little experience.
